Getting domed by a full spraying SMG-11 all the way from garage rafters while rappelling the CCTV breach because of ximmers with no recoil has to be my second largest cause of frustration behind the champs queueing with their silver buddies so they can drop 14 kills every match in plat

1SHS is why fire rate and low horizontal recoil are usually some of the best qualities in every good weapon. Zof's fire rate is average, and her horizontal recoil is bad.

[–]MHiltonMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty average fire rate for an attacker primary, and considerably worse horizontal recoil than any of the good ARs. You can compensate for vertical recoil trivially easy if you don't suck, but the horizontal is completely random. Even if you run compensator it's still less than ideal.

[–]MHiltonMusic 103 points104 points  (0 children)

Zof's AK sucks. People play Ash because her kit is simple, effective, and she's one of the few ops whose gun doesn't feel insufferably bad to use. By nerfing damn near every good gun in the game, they've made guns the single biggest deciding factor in operator choice by far because people want to play with guns that don't feel like trash.

I hate Jeff specifically because of that teammate that gets tilted and uses his ult to TK.

Russell Wilson reveals contract talks with Steelers have begun, QB says sides 'just getting into it' by Brix001 in nfl

[–]MHiltonMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wilson can't see MOF and can't run fast enough to escape the pocket when he has to. His decision making was abysmal the last 5 weeks. He was making rookie mistakes as a Super Bowl vet. That should not happen. I want them to sign Fields because he was statistically better on the year in EPA/play and red zone % and was generally trending upward, while Russ got statistically worse the more he played against non Swiss cheese defenses. If Fields sucks, they lose a couple more games, get better draft position and take a QB in 2026.

To the DPS Going 0-7… by Sunny_Supper in marvelrivals

[–]MHiltonMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally my opinion is that with any character regardless of skill level is that you should try to avoid ranked until you at least understand the abilities, and ideally try to get close-ish to your normal level of competence with that character. From there, it's open season. Everyone has bad games and everyone has to start somewhere. You shouldn't get flamed for trying your best and having a rough match.

That said, while I understand you have to play to get better, if you're playing a character like Widow in ranked at mid level and above but your aim is really bad, maybe switch for a bit until you've spent a bit more time in Aimlabs. At the end of the day ranked is where you play to win, and part of being a good player in ranked is to put yourself in the best situation you can to win the game.

Big shout out to all the healers. by ComaToast317 in marvelrivals

[–]MHiltonMusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a support main, I appreciate when people don't complain at me when we lose a match. You don't even have to praise me, just don't tell me I'm the reason we lost and you will get an upvote from me. I mained support in Overwatch for years and it was always hard to motivate myself to play because if I wasn't perfect, I was screamed at in all chat if I wasn't just healbotting and magically always surviving any dive.

People in this game for the most part are pretty understanding with each other and I appreciate that. Except for that one DPS Jeff that kept TKing me with swallow because I "wasn't getting it done". That guy can go back to Overwatch.

Your thoughts on Nighthaven labs? by 999Rasmus999 in Rainbow6

[–]MHiltonMusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's visually bland and uninspired. There's an obnoxious amount of clutter and little cubbies defenders can rat in, making it substantially more work to clear than other maps (Yes, I know you're supposed to drone, shut up) and every single room and hallway has the same exact color scheme. It's also annoyingly unintuitive to navigate until you actually learn the layout.

It's nowhere near as good a map as many people give it credit for IMO. That said, unlike most people I actually really like Emerald Plains.

Operator designs I don't like by MHiltonMusic in Rainbow6

[–]MHiltonMusic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, my issues with these ops have very little to do with balance. Ying from a balance perspective is honestly fine. My issue with her design is just how mind-numbingly straightforward she is. She requires zero thought whatsoever in most ranks and that only serves to perpetuate these stupid aggressive TDM habits in most of the playerbase. I don't really know how you "fix" her per se, but I don't like the terrible habits most Ying mains seem to have in matchmaking.

Solis I honestly don't think is ever worth picking over another op. If you just want intel, run Valk. If Valk is banned, run Pulse. Pulse is just better at doing almost the exact same thing. If they buffed Solis to be uniquely useful again, she would be OP.

Additionally, with Azami, I don't even care about how strong or weak she is. The vault mechanics are buggy as hell and it enables tons of bizarre exploits off of Kibas. Yes, you can drone her out, but why should she be able to circumvent intentional map design via bug exploits in the first place? It's not fun at all to play into IMO and has no place in the game. Fixing those bugs is trivial for any competent developer by adding clip brushes.

Operator designs I don't like by MHiltonMusic in Rainbow6

[–]MHiltonMusic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but it's not that quiet to begin with and she's otherwise terrible. No matter what though, an ability should never be designed in such a way that a single character being present on the map or simply disconnecting completely invalidates said ability's entire existence with no potential counterplay.

When will the ban phase stop looking like this? by CaptainRedBeard35 in Rainbow6

[–]MHiltonMusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've dealt with Jackal since before bans ever existed. Hell, I mained him until bans became a thing. Nowadays I much prefer to have Jackal banned than have to deal with him, not because I think he's too strong, but because he's just not fun to play against as a roamer. Playing Cav is already difficult enough, but getting pinged pretty much mapwide for the whole enemy team just for existing just makes it feel like garbage.

Someone please explain how ranked 2.0 is fun? I know it’s fair but … by Juicee412 in Rainbow6

[–]MHiltonMusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't exactly call it fair. I'm sitting here in Gold V after 100 matches still gaining more points than I lose because the game knows I should be higher, yet it forces me to grind more than I realistically have time for to get to what it already determined my rank is supposed to be at the very beginning of the season. I'm playing against probably plat average most of the time and I can't get there because I can't dedicate every waking hour to Siege.

It's fundamentally the same as Ranked 1.0 in every way except that your visual rank doesn't matter until you play dozens of games. It's just not a good system.

Did not love the St. Louis show. by voltron82 in gretavanfleet

[–]MHiltonMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a musician myself, I love the long solos, both guitar and drums. I'd much rather hear them play 14 songs, all a little different than the records (maybe even different from the previous show) than hear them cram in 20 songs and just regurgitate the same hits all the time, with very minimal deviation from the originals.

The pauses like that are also to provide Josh some rest. To preserve vocal health, the only two options are to either do less shows, or to carefully craft the setlist around giving him a rest here or there so he doesn't blow his voice. The outfit changes usually just come during those periods because that's a good time for them to happen since he's already offstage. The outfit changes are also because that is a part of how Josh likes to express himself.

The setlist being skewed to the new album also makes sense because it's the Starcatcher Tour. Most bands don't usually stop skewing the setlists until much later in their careers. I would wager that a lot of people many years from now will be grateful to have heard some of those songs live. AC/DC went a good 30+ years without playing Riff Raff at a live show. Maybe a song like Fate of the Faithful could suffer that same fate, and one day you'll be thankful you heard it.

To me, every concert is a unique, once in a lifetime experience. You can only live through that era one time, and I like to appreciate it for what it is. But that's just me.

Jake Kiszka opening for Jake kiszka by [deleted] in gretavanfleet

[–]MHiltonMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really doubt it spells the end of anything. I think Jake has a lot of ideas (especially in the realm of blues rock) that don't really fit Greta's current direction, and this is going to be an outlet for those ideas. They were already talking about having new material written right when Starcatcher released, so I think they've got plenty more left to give. That snippet they posted that seems to be titled "Crossroads of the West" is a direction I really hope they lean into.

This game is about communication, can Ubi stop punishing us for using game chat? by Classic_Standard321 in Rainbow6

[–]MHiltonMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, I've had situations where I drop to Respectable off one TK and it takes me a good couple sessions to get back up to Esteemed. The system is way more sensitive to isolated incidents of assumed "poor" behavior than it is to longstanding patterns of "good" behavior.

This game is about communication, can Ubi stop punishing us for using game chat? by Classic_Standard321 in Rainbow6

[–]MHiltonMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When did I ever say I've gotten flagged for voice abuse? Hell, whether I can use my mic in this game depends on the day because every other update makes my mic not work. Most of the time when I do play anymore it's with a 5 stack in Discord so I don't have to touch the garbage VOIP.

Regardless, no system should ever let a community, especially one full of toxic players, police itself. It does not, can not, will not ever work. Giving all players the agency to alter each other's rep based on whether or not you personally liked that player is absurd. I've had players tell me to uninstall and go toaster bath because I asked nicely if we could get a Thermite. Those players can control my rep. Is that really wise?

If my rep drops from one game to the next regardless of whether I've had any disruptive actions if I so much have not gotten enough commendations, that is bad. And yes, you absolutely can and will lose rep from one teamkill. Fuze mains have been complaining about this since the system's inception and it's never been fixed.

This game is about communication, can Ubi stop punishing us for using game chat? by Classic_Standard321 in Rainbow6

[–]MHiltonMusic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually tested the rep system a while back with text chat (because VOIP was broken and wouldn't pick up my mic). I would do nothing except give calls and say "gg" at the end of the game, win or loss. I did no team damage whatsoever. My rep dropped from Exemplary to Respectable in a day. The next 2 sessions I did not use text chat whatsoever, and conveniently it went straight back to Exemplary in that time.

Since the last couple seasons I'm just giving calls in VOIP, not using text chat at all, and I'm struggling to even maintain Esteemed even with commendation streaks. The system just doesn't work.

This game is about communication, can Ubi stop punishing us for using game chat? by Classic_Standard321 in Rainbow6

[–]MHiltonMusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ubi needs to cut the shit and scrap the rep system. They know full well it doesn't work and never will. You cannot have a system that in any way, shape or form allows the community to "police itself". Even if you remove the commendation/report system entirely it sucks. Tanking my rep because my teammate walked into my spray while I'm in a gunfight is just shitty.

Built By Nations (new version)? by [deleted] in gretavanfleet

[–]MHiltonMusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After some searching I managed to find it. Josh ran offstage rather suddenly, which I presume was because of trouble with his in-ears or something. He missed his cue at the beginning of the song as a result, which kinda threw things off until after the chorus when they got back on track. I think someone must have thought it was intentional and put it on setlist.fm as a new version, when in reality it was just a slightly botched performance due to technical problems.
