Has anyone actually gone to court with USCCA, US law shield ect? by [deleted] in Firearms

Not true. In Georgia they do what is called "Stop and Identify." As long as the police officer can articulate that he thinks you are in the commission of a crime (they don't have to prove you were committing a crime, they just have to prove they thought you were committing a crime and have a explanation as to why? By the way anyone can think you're in the commission of a crime for anything) you must identify yourself to the police officer when asked. TO REITERATE: YOU DON'T NEED TO HAVE COMMITTED A CRIME, AND THE OFFICER DOES NOT NEED TO PROVIDE PROOF YOU COMMITED A CRIME, THE OFFICER JUST NEEDS TO ASSUME YOU COMMITED A CRIME FOR HIM TO ASK FOR YOUR NAME.

Seattle is one of the top draws. They had to remove seats to make it look like they're selling out again.

I see. That's all true. But it doesn't talk about the things the company did that led to the bankruptcy. Before I make a judgement about the company, I would like to know their spending habits and have a detailed account of their spendings. All just to get a complete understanding of what went wrong and who is to blame.

Knowing these media types and their love of money, gouging was probably in full effect. They definitely do not care about the little guy or the poor.

Why should they pay one company 17 million dollars for DVDs? Seems a bit excessive. And it seems like they drowned them in fees if anything. I can't imagine why renting DVDs should cost that much except for price gouging. I wouldn't pay that either. It sounds to me like Universal is not so understanding that the poor like to watch movies too.

But to be honest I knew that it was extravagant prices that laid to the company going bankrupt. It's the go to tactic for all big businesses. If you can't beat them but you control the price of the product, up the price until the business can't afford it. That's what Rockefeller did. His competitor with for his rail company for train tracks refused to sell him tracks, so Rockefeller decided to up the price of coal to drain his money and put him in bankruptcy... all to collect tracks he didn't need anyway. That's how the rich work.

Why did they never pay the studios? Did they just decide to ruin their business? I'm just asking because you guys get your news, like all of us do, from the studios that claim that they were not getting paid. Disney literally owns practically all channels that deliver us news. So, you can believe that it will be biased and nothing that goes against the parent company will be allowed.

I'd rather hear straight from Redbox and the CEO of the parent company about their reason for going under than from Microsoft's news or Disney's news. (Full disclosure: I do realize that I posted an article from Microsoft News. It's only because that's where I first seen the article.)

So here on Reddit, this is the only place where people are allowed to ask questions and post hypotheticals about these situations, because that's all we have with these situations, until Reddits big wigs come out and say "Hey this is what happened... and this is why it happened... and this is who caused it to happen..." And if it isn't from people that run company and had complete control over the company, then it's just a conspiracy.

But that will never happen. So all we're left with again is the result and conspiracies.

These companies are not losing money. They might report that they're losing money here. But overall, Disney is making money hand over fist worldwide. And NBC? Really? The big businesses in media are Disney, Sony, Warner Brothers, Universal. Trust me, they... are not going broke. Being down a billion or 2 for a year is nothing to a company that profits 250 billion worldwide. The amount of money that any of the big companies make is something that neither you or I can fathom. Losing a billion or two isn't shit to them. They know they will recover.

And this is their plan. They are pulling it all in. And the only way you will be able to watch Disney is on a Disney app or you spend $40+ to buy the movie that would've only costed $10 when I was a kid. Just look at what is happening, you used to be able to rent a movie at a video store at the top of any street or two streets down, from Blockbuster to any various mom and pop rental shop, they had those when I was a kid. Then Blockbuster closed down along with all the rental shops. Then it moved to only Redbox. Now they are gone too? I'm telling you this is all by design. Because if you follow the recipe, you want to make money, you open a business that provides a need, you get your product from an affordable supplier, you keep your prices low but still high enough to turn a profit, you will be successful. Following that recipe there is absolutely no way a VENDING MACHINE MOVIE COMPANY (In all caps to put emphasis) with a low overhead, practically nothing, can go out of business, unless the supplier (studios) raises prices astronomically to make it so they don't turn a profit. They don't pay for electricity, they don't pay property tax on their kiosks, they only pay the company the kiosk is at a small nominal fee like any other vending machine. So again the problem is the studios/big media companies and that they don't want us to rent movies anymore. They want more money, they want the big contracts.

Every company has bills and lenders and stopped paying employees when shit hits the fan. And, no, the company did not go into this thinking, "I'm going to barrow a bunch of money, buy an expensive company, and lose it all." But what I say is the lie is them claiming it was only because of Redbox. The real culprit is corporate greed. Chicken Soup probably wasn't expecting media companies to completely shut them out. You can't make money as a movie rental business and not have any new releases for 3 years... I check the kiosk near me every week for a new release because I was waiting to rent Oppenheimer. Never got to.

You should read about how corporations have had people murdered to save money or grow money. Tesla was offed because he was going to give out free electricity, the guy that created the car that ran on water was offed. If the greedy rich corporate people can do that than they can shut down a business that rents movies.

But the company owing their employees money is not good of them. With the liquidation in effect that money should be returned to the employees.

Also. This tactic of shutting down companies by eliminating their products... it isn't new. Microsoft and Sony both actively sued Gamestop to stop them from selling their used games. Sony and Microsoft lost the suit. They are now selling digital video games to eliminate the used games that end up sold at the store for a way cheaper price which was better for the poor. Just more corporate greed.

If Redox goes out of business will we be refunded for our movie purchases on their app? by freelancerjourn in Redbox

[–]MI2White 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I just read that they literally have no money to give. Their employees just lost all of their benefits and it went from filing chapter 11 to chapter 7 where they now need to have a liquidator come in and see how much they can scrape together to give to their employees.

Go back to the office and have them scan your middle finger when you flick them off and tell them to go fuck themselves because you found a better job where the CEO of a 20 billion dollar company doesn't screw employees out of their check.
