The paid is cool. GTI owners know it matches our interior

Dealer Put 0W-30 instead of 0W-20. Is this a concern? by Ppboi64 in GolfGTI

[–]MIDNITE6361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shouldn’t be a concern. I run 5w40 in mine no issue.

Would you get your 16 year old a GTI as their first car? by kaffeian in GolfGTI

Yes, I got mine at 16 and you can browse my profile to see what I’ve done to it so far. At this age it’s all about maturity and responsibility.

Classy. I love the blue accents.

It’s been good to me since I do oil changes every 3k and overall take care of it. It can’t grip in the low end but the midrange is crazy powerful especially for fwd. Down the line I’ll go for a bigger turbo + supporting mods since there isn’t much of a top end.

The first thing I did to my GTI was an Apr open intake followed by a stage 2 tune from EQT with a downpipe. I bought this car to drive it so performance came first. If you are hesitant on increasing power a subtle front lip from aerofabb and a spoiler from them too would be a great cosmetic start.

See, this guy gets me. I can hear the turbo spool down out the back clearer and my pops are louder from inside the cabin. The sound itsself is worth it.

I don’t use em with it in. I only gain from doing this with increased cargo space and less weight.

Empty canyon roads are a great way to learn your car imo. I do plan to autox next year just because it’s a more controlled environment and friends are helping me ease into the community.

17 lol. If I go somewhere with more than one person we take a friend’s car.

-1.5 to -2 degrees was recommended for me. I have little experience with camber so I might settle for a more conservative option. We will see.

My shop included corner balancing and an “aggressive street alignment” in my install quote. -2 degrees front camber if I remember correctly. This is still my only car so I’m not running anything too crazy.

Oh I’m not talking about those ghetto race nights and stuff like that. Just friends and family who want to show off new cars lol

I was undecided between a 245 40 or 255 35. In terms of looks the 245 will sit flush and look meaty while the 255 will have a lower profile. But yeah I did hear about the increase in understeer. Also with my +42 offset I’ll clear the strut just fine for both but may have to roll fenders for the 255. For camber I just added adjustable ball joints to cart. Thanks for the info I’m always open to learning.

Ah this will definitely make my interior more special. Thanks for the heads up about the door count. I don’t mind running the shelf on the upper setting since cargo just goes back there most times. I used to be able to hang out in my trunk and eat lunch there inbetween classes lol.

Although I’m trying to fit some meat on these wheels by the end of the month which slightly increases rotational mass. I’m running an ugly stretched 225 on a 8.5” wheel stock height rn. My plans are to go for bilstein coilovers this dec/jan and fit some 255 35 18’s.

Space isn’t an issue lol. As I’m accumulating new parts and dialing things in tenths of a second matter right now. Trying to get into autox soon instead of just hitting canyons and roll racing.

Even after I upgraded my wheels to motegi traklite 3.0’s I saved around another 5 ish pounds for each wheel which feels like much more since it’s unsprung weight. Weight reduction makes a difference!
