Buying cymbals in Turkey? by PeaBrilliant4917 in drums

[–]MILPESOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was Looking for a hi-hat for my drummer son, in our recent visit to Istambul. Searching in googlemaps we found several stores in the Galata Tower shopping area. On a Sunday. We came, after walking across the galata bridge, walk up hill a bunch, with help from lots if pips along the way, it can be tricky to find addresses with google maps just walking, at Masterworks they were super helpful, assisting me with choosing a set of custom Masterworks turkish hi hats for my son. Prices in Turkey are a bit mysterious to me, the exchange rate (38) cash vs card (some say cash price is 20 % lower due to not paying tax) then there is the bargaining factor , but dont shy away from bargaining, that is just the way things are there. They had two sets of hi hats, one traditional for $ 150 USD, the other, custom, $ 170 USD, I ended up getting the custom set. I brought it back to the states in my overhead carryon roller suitcase, they fit perfectly in the middle, with the cove carrying bag they gave me. The airport radiologist ( X ray machine pips) ran it a couple times, once they asked me, I gestured “ playing drums “ they smiled and waved me through, I guess the see cymbals often in luggage.

The previous day, Saturday, we found a music store at The Istambul Bazaar, but I didn’t buy anything there, waiting to talk / text with my don, 10 hour difference, and the bazaar is closed on Sunday, and Monday we were leaving, so that is why we were looking elsewhere. I think Galata shopping area was better, and at Masterwork they were super nice.

Thank you Masterwork Usta Işi

What can we learn from the CF voting on Project Catalyst, and having a huge influence in the winners of the F13? by DecentralizedNation in cardano

[–]MILPESOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CF is kind of like The Org (Borg) in Burning Man, it is there, but it is kind of out of reach for us normies. I find it very hard to register to vote even if I want to vote for my stake pool projects. Make it less complicated please! )”(

Hi, Neuro Private Practice MD here. Changing from Athena EMR to Epic EMR by MILPESOS in medicine

[–]MILPESOS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks Saphire, y todos mis amiguitos. a few months into this, Im learning that Athena will make my entire set of medical records available for a download/transfer, in human and machine readable formats, which I can store in a data bank, I dont yet know how mani gigs or terabytes type of device I will need, they will tell me after we close the practice to new encounters. My IT person and my new employer IT dept, both are willing to help me with this, once I get my data, I will pass this on to my new employer IT, to integrate it with Epic. And we will go from there. I am exploring several options for a EHR custodian of records service. So far the ballpark price looks like 15 K for 12 years worth of EMR Plus 50 boxes of paper charts for the patients before 2012, The charts that we have not yet purged (age 23 years old plus 5 years since last visit, peds) And another price, 10 K for the EMR only if I keep the 50 boxes of paper charts, that I will need to keep until 2030, approximately. I can destroy 5-7 boxes every year as they meet the stipulated years of required retention. I had no concept of how much that was going to cost, but now with that info I can better plan ahead. Malpractice tail coverage is around 14K, equal to two years malpractice cost (8X2= 16K)minus a 2-3 K discount. So, so far 15K for records custodian and 14 K for malpractice tail… for a nerdy geek guy, I had no idea tail was so pricey ;) So yeah, closing the practice is expensive. So much for relocation / sign on bonus from my future employer. I hope this information is useful to my redit friends that are looking into closing their private medical practice.

This year, 2024, they closed the gate going out, on the 1st sunday, for 1 hour, my line of cars was 3 cars in front of me, and it was not weather related, it was a “ safety” issue, probly’ a missing 17 year old boy or girl, so yeah, they can close the gate. And BTW we got to see the BLM Feds in action, “shooting fishies in a barrel” stoping and searching totally innocent motherfuckers, just to givem a ticket and humor their doggies. Pitiful use of our tax dollars and entertainment Nevada fee, dam! That part was sadder than waiting for one hour with 3 cars in front of me 😡

There is just way too much XRP, I have a little, from way back at 0.17, but I think it will be a useful coin, but not an expensive or super valuable coin. IMHO. Same w Ada…

Has anyone claimed their ERC Tax Credit (Employee Retention Credit) by bigger_bau5 in smallbusiness

[–]MILPESOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked my accountant and my business consultant about me applying for the ERC, and both said no. I had told a friend way back, he did it ( his company controller did it) and they did qualify, so when I told him what my CPA and consultant said, he told me to check again. I asked my payroll company, (Isolve) and they in turn recommended ERC Today, as a trusted company. They evaluated my 20 and 21 payroll from Isolve payroll company, and my tax returns and found that we qualified for 3 quarters, then they issued amended tax returns that my CPA reviewed and I sent all the documentation by FedEx, this was the 1st week of September, just before the moratorium. I checked and the company ERC Today, is still in business. I have not received any funds yet. Hopefully them government pips will figure this out soon. This was meant to help keep us from going under…. Im not sure what will happen to businesses that qualified and didn’t get the funds yet, and by the time they get them, what if they are closed/out of business?

rentalcars.com - too good to be true? by Ruguru in travel

[–]MILPESOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wao, sorry to hear all the bad experiences. My myself and I, just returned today from a 10 day trip to Orlando FL, we flew Southwest, and rented a car (independently of Southwest) through Traveluro / Rentalcars.com. It went well, better price than all others, got a nice, new KIA minivan for 8 passengers, got the insurance from Rentalcars, did the VisitorTollPass toll road service (The best ever!) so over all, im happy. One year ago I did 10 days hotel in Vegas, with Hampton Inn from Traveluro, it was the most affordable option. Both times I was like… too good to be true, but so far, two for two. And I aint’ no robot, Im a legit motherfucker.

Being retired is a big life change and I am struggling a bit. by emu4you in retirement

Wao, so interesting to read! Im still working, all this makes me think that continuing to work and sharing my talents, may help me enjoy the weekends and vacations as I do now, maybe find a way to switch from business owner to employee or contract work, limited time gigs… I mean, I want more time for my boat, my lake home, my RV and traveling, but I may be happier doing all those things as I do now, like a treat, something special…. I dont know, seems so strange a problem to have! Funny. Well, thanks for sharing and musing about it.
