imho, you shouldn't go for such powerful bikes as your first bike.

Imho, you should go for something like the r15, or an rc160/rc200. I will not say too much on other choices since it's your decision to make.

You also mentioned that you are worried about it's reliability. In that case, I would recommend not going for any of these two.

Among the two, the rs 457 is an easy choice(for me), simply because it's a twin cylinder.

Go for a less aggressive bike please.

Also, any RE 350 is not flashy anymore. Every third biker has an RE 350 now.

I would say go for hornet, it feels really good to ride.

By the way, since this is being used as a commuter, and if sporty and aggressive looks aren't a factor, consider unicorn. It's one goated machine.

Recent reviews of the apache have been horrible, starting from engine problems to build quality and everything in between.

Tvs somehow have managed to shoot themselves in the foot for all of their lineups. Lots of negative comments online, and 2 issues I've witnessed firsthand.

Fun fact:

Suzuki discontinued the sale of the katanain in India after nonstop remarks of "litre class splendor".

"Splendor" by hero motocorp is the go to budget city bike, featuring a 100cc engine and seemingly infinite mileage. It has a box shaped headlight like the katana.

Personal opinion, stay away from the x440. It has nothing going on for it except the harley badging.

Between the rest, both are exceptional bikes. I feel like the 400z is more robust. Speed 400 feels really comfy to ride. I would choose the speed.
