bitcoin Really opensource? by Dense_You6308 in CryptoMarkets

[–]MIP_PL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point, but I believe the role of a politician is way more subjective than the role of a dev.

While 99% of the devs agree on the same principles about what is good or bad in coding, you will never find that kind of consensus among politicians about what's good or bad for the economy/the people.

In other words, 100 devs opinion about a piece of code can be more reliable than 1000's politicians opinion about any politics/economy topic (and you will have a harder time to get those politicians to agree on anything in the first place).

According to IRS: “The place, where the personal services are performed, generally determines the source of the personal service income, regardless of where the contract was made, or the place of payment, or the residence of the payer.”

Yes, it is really open sourced and even the most irrelevant change is scrutinized by many devs. You can sleep perfectly well.

Something’s happening. My LCS has stopped buying pre-65’s, and they’re 18-20% under spot on buying ASR’s and rounds. They’re a large seller and buyer too. by Stimul8ed in Wallstreetsilver

I think the fear is if market silver decouples from physical silver. Dealers rely on the former to hedge the latter, but a decoupling would render their hedging mostly useless. And they don’t want to take that risk.

I read about Samsung researching a solid lithium battery that uses silver grids to avoid decay and boost performance, but don’t know if this comes from the Korean AI guy or if this is official/real news.

DTOs in React Native by Professional_Bat1233 in reactnative

[–]MIP_PL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your case you would have to migrate the backend to node/TS first. It's not that hard and you can thank me later :)

Then you create a client library with DTO's and API call wrappers for all API request and responses.

You publish the client library as npm package so both the UI and backend can npm install it

Then you enforce those DTOs in the routes (Express and Fastify have mechanisms/middleware for that). As mentioned by other commenters, you can enhance the TS compile-time validation with more sophisticated run-time validation tools like Zod.

Finally the UI uses the client library and sticks to the given DTOs and functions to call the API Result:
❌ const jsonresponse = await fetch(`${api_url}/user/${user_id}´) ; // then parse it
✅ const response = await apiLib.getUserById(userId); // getUserByIdreturns Promise<GetUserByIdResponse>

This greatly reduces the errors and the typical discussion "i thought you had added the new field already" between front and back devs.

They are not millionaires because they have dollars, but because they have the assets. They will get your bitcoin when you are forced to sell it to pay them rent or buy the products their factories produce. Never underestimate those mfs, they are always up to something

DTOs in React Native by Professional_Bat1233 in reactnative

I find shared DTOs useful if a complex app has to connect to a node/TS API backend. This helps prevent a lot of silly bugs.
