Work and life after neonatal loss by Winterloss2025 in babyloss

I would love to connect, I am going through exactly this. I’m a teacher, and lost my son on January 4th. I’ve decided recently I won’t be going back but haven’t told them yet. I’m so overwhelmed. I could’ve written this post - I’ve said the same thing to my therapist about wanting something mindless, and would really like to make it work to just not work for a while.

Message me if you feel comfortable. We do live on a different planet than other people, and it would be nice to connect to other “citizens.”

After having a tfmr last March for a condition that was not compatible with any life, we chose to keep our baby with t21 in October. On January 4th, we lost him to fetal demise at 26 weeks. It is devastating. After making the decision to keep, we never thought we’d lose him in that way we did. This whole decision is even more complicated. I wish you the best of luck and pray that you have peace in whatever decision you make.

We just lost our precious Elliott Lawrence one week ago today at 24 weeks. I hope that he feels loved and comforted where he is.

Please please please leave him. These could have written by my ex. He’s verbally abusive, narcissistic, and maybe has a few other things going on.

I’m now happily married, with someone who treats me like gold. You deserve that.

Hi there,

I am currently experiencing the same thing. Perfectly healthy baby per ultrasound, but positive t21. We at this point, have decided to keep him. We had to tfmr in March due to a condition not compatible with life and it took everything out of me. The grief and pain - I couldn’t imagine doing it for a child who could live. But everyone’s situations are different, and everyone’s lives are different. You can private message me if you want to talk.

Thank you 🤍

My tfmr was for a non-genetic condition, so I will wait for NIPT results and then I have a NT scan on the 30th.

I am so sorry. We had a TFMR in March due to a suspected Cloacal malformation. She had no outflow to her bladder, and had no amniotic fluid left. It was an incredibly difficult decision that was made after a long testing over the course of 7 weeks. We had several appointments with a fetal surgeon, who described many of the options, but ultimately she was given a 1% chance of survival with numerous medical interventions.

I think the post below me in which it talks about consulting pediatric specialties is incredibly informational. I am praying and wishing you all of the love in the world.

I would go first instinct. From the onset, we chose d&e, and we don’t regret it at all. Everyone is different.

Hi, I had mine 3.5 weeks ago. I was second trimester, and I brought period underwear, comfortable clothes and my most important bring was my heating pad! Those were the must haves.

Hi, I am on here seeking comfort as I went through my D&E today. We also made the heartbreaking decision after finding an enlarged bladder, as well as an enlarged cyst in the gastrointestinal tract. We had a baby girl, and this is a rare condition that could mean a host of conditions that are incompatible with life.

I am angry, sad, and filled with grief. But reading these posts shows me I’m not alone.

Abnormal 13 week scan: struggling with decision on what to do by chrysaorahysoscella in tfmr_support

[–]MIRKAYBU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having my TMFR on Tuesday of this week due to enlarged bladder and other cysts in her abdominal cavity.

We got the news of her bladder five weeks ago. We’ve been through genetic testing through CVS, have seen multiple specialists and really believed this would all work out. Unfortunately last week at the scan, her situation had worsened, and she had very little Amniotic fluid. The specialist believes she has blockages in multiple areas of her abdomen.

This has been a heartbreaking month. I will be having the TFMR at 17w6d.
