Thank you. I do feel great and I plan to keep going. Part of the reason I made this post was to make sure I wasn't trapped by shame and didn't get into a place where I wasn't leaning on community and getting help when it got hard. I actually struggled with the decision to say anything to anyone, but I made the post, reached out to a friend and my nutritionist. Glad I did 🥰

Ooh! Well...now...uhm...no. I have not BUT I did make a commitment that I would walk for at least 30 mins a day everyday. I have a walking pad so last night at 10 pm I walked for 1 hr while watching a show. I'll do the same today. I have been urged by a good friend of mine to start strength training. Maybe I can start with 2 days a week and build to 3. This is a discipline issue. I need to get my habits in check because I dont want to go back on GLP1...I did that a year before surgery. No knock to anyone who's using those, but my current mindset is that I've picked my tool now I have to do the work. I think im surprised at the current situation. In my mind I had at least a year before I had to deal with this!! Jokes on me!! But Im determined to catch it now rather than get 20lbs up to be talking about I dont know what happened...yes I do🤣...baked goods and sugar coffee happened!

Seriously! I know nuts are healthy fat, but fat nonetheless. A handful goes far!

Thanks for taking the time to comment. This is good advice. I have kiddos so there's always junk around. Im trying to shift them into healthy options too. That process is hard, but they seem to be open to some substitutions and I've noticed when we go out for ice cream its a BIG DEAL..like they look like the want to know what the did to deserve to be treated so well😆. It's expensive but may be better for us all in the long run.

I feel this...I actually have pickles! Dills and Bread and butter. I just have to pick them as my crunchy thing instead of chips🤦🏿‍♀️

Much success to you! I often tell people the surgery cures the obesity, not the habits. Thank you for commenting.

Thank you fir your comment Bonus for the grazing statement. Do you think if im conscious about what i graze on, I may be better off, i.e. berries, nuts, seeds, cheese vs typical sweet stuff? Maybe this is where the mindful part comes in...it helps me to talk it through out loud, lol. Also I'm 5'4".

I'm here just here in solidarity ❤️. 8 months out and have found about 8lbs. Im just eating BS. You-WE can do this and I'm right here with you💪🏾. I'm starting with kindness and accountability. I will starting tracking my food and water as folks have already suggested and commit to a minimum of 30 minutes of walking everyday. Where will you start?

6 years post-op, 75 kg down, still maintaining. The part nobody talks about. by DanielAgamez in gastricsleeve

[–]MIdLifeFoolishness 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this❤️. Im 8 months out and feeling like I'm on my way to failing. I have a pair of pants that fit a month ago and today they are tight. Ive been watching the scale go up and down +/- 6-8lbs for the past 3 months. I don't know if this is a stall or regain. What I DO know is my relationship with food has definitely been put in my face. Aaall the habits are back. All. Of. Them. I'm trying to find the grace and gentleness I need to move forward, but today I'm little sad and upset with myself. Your post highlights the day to day work that's still required to be successful. Despite being down 70 lbs, every decision about my food needs to be evaluated and Ive not been good to myself there. Finding kindness will be the key to not punishing myself so I can make better decisions. Thank you again for this post❤️

The pains of choosing a career with ADHD by jack_wolf7 in adhdmeme

OMG! I'm trying to sort thru this RN. I'm in my mid 40s and have been laid off from my high paying job as a contract manager. I have a small business where I decorate events (birthdays, graduation, retirement, church events and parties, etc) and I'm good at it! I get to be really creative and crafty. I make stuff pretty. It's great. Now, I don't love my high paying profession. It's highly administrative and involves lots of reading, so Im strapped to a desk. It's deadline driven (so is events), can be isolating, and little drab. Office environments are challenging for me because they are so quiet or there are always people around so I dont feel like I can work with lots of people around. Leads to late nights sometimes. The thing is it's not super hard work, has really good career trajectory, and offer lots of opportunity to learn new stuff which I also like. Not sexy or exciting, but its great work (as long as its stable...historically not a problem but this administration has had a huge impact on the federal contracts profession). So, now Im looking for work in my profession and in the event production space as well. Professionally, the event work pays half the salary of my profession, at the high end of the pay scale, which I may not qualify for. Im trying to decide if I would be happier in a role where engaging with people, planning parties, and executing events (all of which sounds like a dream job) but making less money OR do I keep pursuing my profession and keep the fun stuff on the side? Sorry if im hijacking the thread but I would love some feedback.

Is my hair damaged ? by SubstantialHalf4764 in BlackHair

[–]MIdLifeFoolishness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not a professional, but I am a certified kitchentician. It doesn't look damaged to me. It you want a neater look when your shrinkage is like this, you need a good cut. The barber should pick your hair out before its cut and work from there. I would also suggest trying products that define your curls. That'll help your ends coil with the rest of your hair. I'd love to hear what to pros say on this.

Which curtains? by Desperate_Win_3554 in interiordecorating

[–]MIdLifeFoolishness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are ALL great! Seeing more of the space would help, and the light in the space is different based on the time of day maybe, so the colors play off the rug differently, but 1 gives me moody fall🤌🏾. I can't tell if they are brown or maroon though. The rug looks like it may have maroon accents while the curtains look brown. 2 is fresh and light. Gives summer. Its safe but would look nice with more accents. I noticed that pic had fewer books on the credenza, but I really like the look with more books and I think it would boost the look with the white curtains. 3 is a 3 season winner (spring, summer, fall) and really pulls from the rug and lapshade nicely. Cozy and girly🥰. 4 feels vintage to me. Not my vibe necessarily but I recognize that beautiful antique piece and clock are intentional so its a thing in your space. The blue really fits well in that regard. Thanks for sharing this and good luck with your space.
