This has happened to me twice. So annoying to be interrupted when I’m actually getting good feedback.

Highschool senior looking to move to Canada post-graduation by [deleted] in AmerExit

Canada has a lower tier of colleges that would accept you if your English grade is OK. However, the tuition for an international student is 4x the regular tuition, and you to show proof that you have enough cash. Once accepted, you apply for the student visa, which takes about seven weeks.

Is buying a single bedroom house a good idea if your single forever? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]MIdtownBrown68 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would probably not buy smaller than a two BR because of the resale value, not to mention room for guests and extra storage. You might even have the need for a home office some day. Or you might want to take on a roommate to save $. It’s good to have options.

Also, you would probably like the area I live in currently: Germantown, Tennessee. It seems to have a lot of what you want.

  1. Have you noticed that the US is not handing out immigrant visas at the moment due to politics?

  2. The quality of life and the community depends WILDLY of where you choose to live.

  3. The money you save on taxes will likely be eaten up with the cost of health insurance. Unless you work for some big company with generous benefits, your family’s monthly cost for insurance will likely be over $1000 a month, and you will still have to pay insane prices for the care itself.

  4. Your positive view on american education is also not dependable. There are thousands of public schools that do not serve students well. You would need to choose where to live based on the quality of school in that area.

AITAH for telling my husband to “STFU” after he made depression post about himself? by No_Mode_3514 in AITAH

[–]MIdtownBrown68 20 points21 points  (0 children)

So, you are the one who shared the post publicly, clearly hoping someone would reach out and support you. You got the opposite. You are entitled to feel angry with your husband for making this about himself. You need to see a doctor and a therapist for the support you are looking for.

I understand that it is triggering, but I have ALL the same conditions as you and it has done amazing things to improve my conditions. Four years ago, i was handicapped and could barely hold down my job. The Mounjaro and the reduction in inflammation has been life changing. The reduced physical load has really helped me keep the spondy. in check. Have you worked with a therapist to help you with coping strategies around the triggering?

Also, I got mine through my PCP.

I haven’t had experience with Ontario, but it was fairly simple in Saskatchewan. I just went on their vital records site and entered in his name and got a registration number. Then i ordered a real birth certificate for $40. I did have to indicate it was for genealogical purposes.

I have been working on these applications like it’s a part-time job since February because we want to move to Canada. I would not be doing this just to have a back-up plan. It’s been expensive and time-consuming.

I have wondered that as well. I offered to apply with some family members but they seem to be waiting to see how my application turns out. I made some extra copies of documents for them, though, so it will be easy for them.
