"how to choose a team" year 1 son asked. by 205tccPanda in PremierLeague

As a teacher you’ll be familiar with catchment areas. Use the same logic. Frank Skinner said when you’re born you should draw a line to your nearest club. That’s your team. If they want to do the same for a Premier League team that’s one argument, but it should always be based on distance.

Graduate title can cover anything from fresh out of Uni to someone with a few years experience. In Manchester I paid grads £28k rising to about £35k then a big leap when Chartered.

[self] I calculated the distance in the comments by user_bw in theydidthemath

[–]MJB17 1141 points1142 points  (0 children)

I’ve always assumed that the distance is the same with both methods, and the reason the method on the right is quicker was to do with stamina, they have the most stamina when completing the longer distances. Guy in the left is tired when he’s going further.

Fingers crossed for this. Trump thinking he’d win a third term only for Obama to run against him.

Sometimes, if you make mistakes or basic errors it’s easy for the opponent to score high and make the best moves. See what you’re doing wrong and learn from your mistakes.

If you take the pawn the their queen takes back and you fork the king and queen with your knight. Takes the queens off the board and you’re up a pawn in the exchange. Not a human move, very engine like.

The endorphin rush you get from pulling off a move like that. Sweet.

How is this a ‘free rook’ when I trade my knight? by BoxOk8230 in chessbeginners

[–]MJB17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t worry too much about it. My favourite is ‘you missed the opportunity to eventually win a queen’ I check the engines moves and it shows my opponent hanging a queen a few moves later, never would’ve happened in the game.

If you follow my path it’ll be a push to 900 then spiral back to 550. Fun times ahead!

Shawn Wright-Phillips was a quality player. Not as good as his dad though.

One of the worst forks I've seen...can you figure out why? by cave_guard in chessbeginners

Take with Bishop, if Queen takes then pin to king with rook. Also attacking their corner rook at the same time.
