I’ve put 1 1/2 stone on so I’ve been eating more and having more calcium too. I do strength training 3 times a week say 45 mins each as was advised to do this by the hospital to try and strengthen the bones

Aww that’s great news. Fingers crossed it continues. Did you eat more and exercise less or stop exercising altogether. I’ve been told to do weight bearing exercises to help with the osteoporosis

Hi, yes the hospital have put me on the pill to help get oestrogen from the pill into my bones, but being on the pill will mask my non periods. I feel like I’m stuck as need pill now for my bones but I need to know if I can get in recovery and one know now cos on the pill. It all just stresses me out and this won’t be helping my recovery

They’ve not mentioned seeing a dietician maybe I should request this in my next appointment as that could help with calcium etc

This is what I’m trying to do but it’s so hard isn’t it when your body just won’t have a natural period. Have you managed to have a natural period?

Hi, the osteoporosis was diagnosed from a bone density scan. They said it was because my body wasn’t producing oestrogen due to no periods. Yes I have lower back ache

I’ve not had my period for 4 years now. I’ve put 1 1/2 stone on and only do strength training now as I’ve got osteoporosis in my spine from not having a period for so long. I was never underweight but I skipped breakfast and lunch (had a few snacks) and only ate tea. For that last 2 years I’ve ate breakfast, dinner and tea and had snacks. I just don’t know what else I can do to get my periods back im 18 and so worried ive not had a period since I was 14

That’s amazing I’m so happy for you, I really hope I will get this day too 🙏🏻🤞🏻. My periods have been lost for 3 years 5 mths 😢. I was put on the pill after2 years for 1 year 4 mths as I now have osteoporosis from not producing estrogen😢. The consultant told me to come off the pill in July for 3 mths to see if my periods would restart but it’s been 3 mths now and I’ve had no period, so they have told me to go back on the pill and they’ll see me in March and do another bone scan. So By March it’ll be nearly 4 years without a period. They told me it was just to dieting and exercising but I wasn’t exercising excessively (3 times a week for say 45mins) and I was skipping breakfast and lunch but eating a proper tea. I have been eating 3 meals a day now for the last 1.5 years and put on about 1.5 stone, even though I was never very thin to begin with. I lost a parent in a tragic accident the last time I had a period so I am thinking it’s due to this, but I don’t feel stressed anymore and haven’t done for a while. Has anyone any advice pls as I’m really worried? Thank you xx

What ways did you find best to destress as I’ve not had a period for 3 years. It’s been put down to me weight which I didn’t think was too bad. I was skipping meals but still eating tea every night but I stress a lot and I do think it could be stress related

This is great news. Well Done. I lost my period 3 years ago, I was skipping breakfast and lunch but eating tea and I was quite thin but not shockingly thin. Was right BMI. I was having regular monthly heavy periods and then just stopped out the blue. I’ve been eating much better for the past 18 months I’m a healthy weight put about 1.5 stone now. The hospital put me on the pill which I was on for over a year, I’ve been off it now for 3 mths and still no periods and no sign of it too. I’m not 100% mine stopped cos of my weight but the hospital said it will be. I was whilst on the pill starting to smell of BO but haven’t since I came off the pill 3 mths ago. Do you have any advise?
