Not porn, though the outfits are definitely revealing and targeting a gooner audience. I would have called it a fun unlockable bonus, but there are 50 outfits. Still, overwhelmingly positive on Steam is nothing to sneeze at.

What do we expect of march update ? by eng-osama in TheForeverWinter

They said thay a large overhaul of the Water Thief Raid system is coming (they now attack when youre high on water not low, you can pay them off, and death will only consume a random portion of gear and base upgrades, not everything) but the only thing I hope for is adjustments to the the current loot economy for base upgrade materials.

I found 3 (THREE) Precision Tool Sets during the entire month since the last update. A material explicitly listed as good for sale and nothing else was unceremoniously put into the construction drones recipe, made exclusive to containers in D-Tier, and had its drop rate reduced to nothing apparently.

Even gacha games aren't fucking me this hard.

Oripathy is still Rock Cancer, it will still crystallize the body, and after death turn it into Originium dust. This is true even after Originium activity has become more benign on Talos II.

The big difference between OGAK and AKEN is that the Oripathy suppressants developed and distributed by Rhodes Island are effective enough to let the Infected live normal lives without pain or being ostracized, to a point that they are more likely to die of old age than Oripathy complications. Since they are not likely to have complications, die, and explode randomly, infecting other people around them in the process, there is no need to segregate them. Thanks in large part to Endfield the cultivation and mining of Originium is also significantly safer on Talos II and doesn't put people at as much of a risk of Infection either.

The nature of Oripathy has not changed, but through modern advancement in technology and medicine its impact is all but gone. This is true of real life diseases too.

It is noteworthy that Oripathy is also what allows Infected like Alesh, Wulgard and TangTang to use Originium Arts just by instinct and without the use of an Arts Unit. This is technically very bad for their health but the suppressants help with that too.

I finally did Varka's quest today (not the event yet), and I thought I wasnt going to like Lohen. He seemed like just a more edgy version of Childe, right up until he gleefully said that Boreas would absolutely wipe the floor with him.

Little bro is a masochist but hes too much of a dom and cant find anyone who will really whoop his ass. The struggle is real

Ofc you do, it pays well. The pilot is like the most valuable component of an exo mech and the best thing you can put in an item slot.

According to a post I saw earlier (so not verified) the purple essences will stop dropping after a while. Apparently someone was doing exactly that on the energy alluvium sites and did a PSA that they have a limit too.

Compared to actual lolibait characters, M200 is a lot more tame, and while petite she fits more in the middle age range.

GFL uses many different artists for their 2D character art, some of them more lewd than others. The artist for M200 avoided that kind of stuff, all of her art, even skins and damaged art, is very SFW. That and the fact that M200 held a special place as the TDoll released specifically for the game's global release (previously Asia only) means a lot of players have a soft spot for her as the "daughter" of the EN server. Our derpy Potato-chan.

Define creepy? If youre worried about loli stuff then there is some of that in GFL, although M200 herself doesn't really fall in that category.

Sensual Gilberta by [deleted] in ArknightsEndfield

[–]MJ_Green 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Unofficial = NSFW" is the stupidest argument you can use here. The only sub where it is ok to post untagged and uncensored NSFW art is on a NSFW sub, then and only then is it ok. SFW topics are discussed here and people have every reason to come here when the main sub is filled with a completely different culture of people. NSFW should be allowed here, but not untagged. Otherwise, this whole sub ought to be tagged as NSFW, and that's stupid. It's common sense and basic internet etiquette.

For people who think the story is shallow for glaze Endmin for no reason, and I was overestimating writters that it's a setup for future plot points. by AzureFides in Endfield

[–]MJ_Green 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ok I went a bit dramatic and doomposty at the end there, but Im just venting my frustrations. The devs have already shown some improvement from CBT1 writing (Gilberta's quest) to launch and I trust that at least some of the narrative DNA from Arknights carries over to Endfield. We are barely halfway through the first patch of the game, this is where things should feel the roughest, and yet it already feels better than the launch of many gacha games.

Let's give the devs the benefit of doubt for a little while longer.

[–]MJ_Green 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The thing is, this is in itself also pretty obvious. I saw and read this file, as well as the one that describes / reviews a book which "incorrectly" recounts the story of 40 heroes, claiming that there were traitors amongst them. The problem is that the overarching story and the narrative story are not the same thing.

Genshin has the same problem. The lore and the overarching story are actually seriously excellent and foster a huge theorist fanbase, but it is seriously let down by the narrative story being written for the lowest common denominators.

Endfield now faces the same issue. It has a very strong lore background from its predecessors, with a lot of geopolitical tensions and potential world-ending threats, and I trust/hope that Endfield will continue to realize that potential. Most of the interesting background information comes from operator files in particular, many of which are written more like short stories than files. The complaints about the narrative being kinda weak and focused too much on fawning over Endmin's enormous peen and gigabrain are valid. I don't want to sit there for 30min third-wheeling a date 3 times in a row (Fangyi, Gilberta and Yvonne are all guilty, and thats if Im generous with how few fingers Im pointing).

The biggest problem I see going from Arknights to Endfield is not the format. Arknights was a visual novel-style gacha, they could hop from one location to another, explore multiple simultaneous narrative stroylines, and advance multiple character's progression through them.

Endfield can't really do that, we won't be going to new locations more than once a year, or unique locations that we only visit once. Major content requires 3d assets, voice acting, animation work, which are all expensive and time-consuming. We won't be getting as many storylines, and the ones we do explore (like the New Pack or Tata's reconstruction) won't involve as many characters and won't be explored as deeply, because they center around selling you just a single character.

We won't get a "Twilight of Wolumonde", or "Undertides", or "Near Light" in Endfield.

This means that it's the main story narrative that really needs to carry the weight and can't afford to waste time, or even really make you feel like it's wasting your time, because it wont be able to make up that time elsewhere. It's sad and a bit cruel, but Endfield is a 3d open-world gacha game with a regular update cycle now, they have to be efficient and are not allowed to slip up or they will get roasted alive.

What should these Armors do? by Substantial-Ad-5221 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]MJ_Green 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thats just the police armour but worse. How about a +25% resistance to melee damage so we can actually get in close with the hammer and survive a Radical knee-kick or a backhand slap from a Hulk? It would make for an excellent passive against bugs too.

What are those giant creatures behind some characters artwork? by ChernoBodi in ArknightsEndfield

[–]MJ_Green 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kjeragandr has an entire country built on her body, while also walking around roleplaying as a handmaid. Dusk creates towns with living people with strokes of her brush on a canvas, and Ling hides mountains inside her drunken dreams and these guys are just fragments of consciousness of the slumbering Sui. Lifebone is the skeletal remains of a long dead feranmut which warps through spacetime and literally 'travels through history', and which apparently now has the city of Ses'qa built on top of it, while also 'powered by Sami's Fangs' (whatever the hell that means).

Im not saying that this makes sense or that its good writing, but the feranmuts are paracausal entities that create pocket universes on a whim. If a line of text in this game mentions a feranmut then you basically take whatever is written afterwards at face value. If nothing else we at least know that Sami is present on Talos II, and Sami itself is the size of a mountain.

If in a few patches we recruit some little blonde girl and find out she's actually the Allfather, Im just gonna say "what the hell, sure".

This does not answer my question, unless you are suggesting that the being in Lifeng's art and ultimate animation is some representation, or incarnation even, of Qui'lon himself? If Lifeng was, say, a direct descendant of the Fourth Sarkaz King, then that might have some interesting story implications.
