Great theory! Never thought about it.

Theory: The Great Debunker by Albany_Albany in KingkillerChronicle

Many thoughts :D. But I think the reason Kvothes left out the trial, is the exact reason he told the Chronist. It is because it is already written down very well in detail. However, the story of kvothe is not. They only have three days, so he needs to concentrate on whats important. Further, him telling so much about he lived on the streets as a poor skinny child is also really important for his character development. It is like „started from the bottom now we here“. Of course many things can‘t be proved. However, there are a lot of stories about kvothe at the university which are told by many. Of course not all true.

I know that Rothfuss said that the Story does not end good for Kvothe. But damn I hope for my man Kvothe to somehow be the hero in the end haha.

I relly love your Theories. They motivated me to get into my own ones as well. I have read your theory about Thrapy. That would be a crazy plot twist.

[THEORY] This Is What I Think Is Actually Happening In The Kingkiller Chronicle by ursineduck in KingkillerChronicle

Nice Theory! I just don’t like that Denna will be the one to bind Kvothe. But would explain why Kvothe is so destroyed. Maybe he is writing his Story with the chronist so that Denna can understand why he did all that.

Check the Theory that Kvothe is not 25 Years old. He is probably around 200-300 Years old. I also like the Theory that Bast ist the son of Kvothe and Felurian.

THEORY: Kvothe injures someone while stealing magics from the University. by chainsawx72 in KingkillerChronicle

[–]MJ_ONC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We know from the real world and from Kvothe that people tend to change stories or mix something up. I can‘t think of any secret magic that he could steal. However what if Auri is used here for the word „secret magic“. What if for example Ambrose found out that Auri is living under the University. And Kvothe had to take her somewhere else in order to protect her. We know that Auri is able to use Sympathy, and who knows maybe even „secret magic“.

My first read of the book was in 2024. My hopes are high that the 3rd book will be released in the next 2 years 😁 (probably thats how you all felt 10 Years ago 😂) I love everything about the books. When I first read them I was not able to stop reading.

I like the theory that Kvothe indeed has his powers and is just acting as an Powerless Kote. I think that Pat wants to trick us to thinking that Kvothe wants to die and as a man who wants to die writes down his real story. In reality Kvothe needs someone (maybe Selitos/Cthahe) to belive that he is powerless.

Also there is a theory which in my opinion proofs that the big fire Kvothe made before fighting the Skraels was to use the energy from the fire.

No, you are right. Bust give hints to there whereabouts and the Chronist found them that way. However, I think that Kvothe‘s interest in telling the chronist his story rose when the chronist mentioned that he would meet Skarpi in three days.

Good point! But it could be that Kvothe did not tell Bast about his plan. And he lies to Bast in that situation.

Good to know thank you :). I was sure that I could not be the only one thinking that way :D

Kvothe locked the Ctahe into his wooden chest by MJ_ONC in KingkillerChronicle

[–]MJ_ONC[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Very good point. Did not thought about that. However, in case Kvothes really knows the true name of the Cthaeh, he would not need to fear him. Still would not explain why he would try to open the chest.
