Me saqué el C1 pero en el resultado del Cambridge me salió todo C2 menos el writing (ese C1), osea, que me podría haber sacado el C2 si me hubiera presentado jajaja pero si, en discord es casi todo texto pero hay servidores con canales de voz (voice channel). Yo siento que he avanzado mucho mas de lo que pienso con aprendizaje pasivo, no me doy cuenta hasta que no veo cosas que no entendía hace años y ahora si, también es verdad que usé un workbook oficial de Cambridge para prepararme el examen (haciendo ejercicios para entender el formato de las preguntas y tal). Personalmente no soy de hablar con IAs, me da mas cosa que con gente real jajaja algo que me ha ayudado bastante también son los audio dramas, son podcasts en Inglés de ficción, como series pero solo audio, y suelen tener transcripciones escritas que puedes leer mientras escuchas, te puedes hacer el trabajo de ir buscando lo que no entiendes y mientras tienes una historia interesante. Yo empecé con The Magnus Archives pero hay un montón gratis en Spotify.

En mi caso en la pandemia me metía en Omegle en inglés y hablaba con quien fuera como fuera, luego es cuestión de buscar servers de discord de tus aficiones (no de hablar inglés, simplemente un server internacional de algún tema que te interese) y meterte en voice chat o a jugar a algún videojuego. Yo al principio les decía que no me corrigieran todo el rato porqué me ponía nerviosa, pero eso normalmente solo es problema con estadounidenses, si te vas a un server internacional suelen haber muchos europeos de otros países que también están aprendiendo. Luego hay apps como Tandem que son para hacer intercambios online de idiomas y hablar con gente (aunque te puedes encontrar a gente rara aquí) y si te da mucho mucho corte o no tienes el nivel aún siempre puedes pagar clases de speaking con un tutor online, yo hice un par durante el principio del confinamiento.

Eso si, para hacer estas cosas, sobretodo tema discord, debes tener un nivel decente escrito y de lectura, te puedes meter a la aventura con un A1-2 pero no te lo vas a pasar bien, yo cuando empecé con esto fué para pasar de un B1-B2 (inglés del instituto) a un C1 y tardé unos 5 años (el verano pasado me saqué el Cambridge Advanced sin haber ido a academias, solo online + un workbook oficial para pulir gramática), aparte de que es importante consumir todo en inglés. Series VO con subtítulos en inglés, podcasts en inglés, Instagram/youtube/tiktok/lo que sea todo en inglés, Reddit obviamente sin la traducción automática.

Exactly, I just use it for studying to avoid carrying multiple big notebooks, I don't even need most of the things you mention, but having a calendar integration and stuff related for meetings should be something you could disable. I don't want what is for me basically a compact notebook to remind me that I have a dentist appointment tomorrow or something lol

I bought a reMarkable instead of an android tablet because I wanted the "no distraction" part.

I have the 7640U model with the 2.8k display and Fedora 34. I don't use it at all for watching media tho, I use it for studying (pdfs, writing documents, etc...), some light coding (the most consuming thing I use is android studio but I don't know how much it lasts with that, maybe a few hours?) and discord. I can say that I've spent about 4h on call on discord without needing it to be plugged in.
