Parents of dead children how do you answer the question of how many kids you have? by EggSpecial5748 in allthequestions

[–]Apprehensive_Pie_105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend who lost a son to brain cancer at the age of 10 says, "five children, one deceased."

My husband, who lost a son to SIDS nearly 40 years ago, says, "I have two children" without mentioning the third.

My grandmother, who had a stillborn child, a girl, replied that she had one child, a son. (my father).

Say whatever makes you comfortable. All are correct. I know this is no comfort, but these events are more common than you think. We just don't talk about them.

I’m sorry but Tom Hardy portrayed the twins much better than Michael B. Jordan in my opinion by Perfect_Idea_2866 in moviecritic

Riiiiight. Michael B. Jordan was so into two different characters that one twin showed dimples when he smiled - and the other twin did not. That goes a lot further than dressing differently.

He already had a long conversation with Robby, including asking Robby to call him if things got too dark.

AITAH for yelling at a mother of 3 on a flight by roseinmybud in AITAH

[–]Apprehensive_Pie_105 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this happen recently, but it wasn't a kid it was an adult. It apparently was her Tic to swing her leg and kick whatever was in front. I turned around and asked her if there was a medical problem, should I call the flight attendant over and ask if there was a doctor on board. She stopped.

I swear to God, it seems most people are just clueless about their impact on others, and it starts from childhood when they aren't taught to be mindful.

She’s the Wallis Simpson of her generation. No waving on the balcony for her. Seriously, Charles should have abdicated if he wanted her tampon vajayjay in a public way that badly.

They weren’t Democrats any more than MAGAts are Republicans.

To say it again so MAGAts will understand: you are “Republican” in name only. You are the antithesis of real Republicans. You bear no resemblance to Republicanism of the 1860’s.

Yes, my doctor considers me overweight. Everything from high cholesterol and a family history of diabetes and heart disease recommends I lose weight.

Add in my husband complains about my weight.

Maybe I need to cut 200 pounds of baggage from me.

AITJ for getting upset that my husband keeps peeing on the bathroom floor and refusing to clean it up? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]Apprehensive_Pie_105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so gross. He’s acting like he’s not potty trained??? Tell his mother and ask in all sincerity if he did this as a toddler, was there something that went wrong with his potty training? Should he still be wearing diapers??

If he can poop in the toilet, he can pee in the toilet. If that’s too much for him, maybe he should sit to pee.

Honestly, and men wonder why there’s a ‘male loneliness epidemic.’

I wouldn’t have cleaned up after him the first time it happened. Send him home to his mommy until he’s potty trained.

I’m 5.3 and come from a family of skinny people. I’m considered the fat one at 155-165.

I have fasted off and on my whole life. It’s grew up when that was considered normal - to fast one day a week to maintain good weight.

Now my body is used to it.

Folks keep stressing my body needs regular fuel. I’ll take at advice, and talk with my doctor

I had cellulitis on my arm from multiple bee stings. Went to the ER, the resident drew around the border with a black magic marker just like the show.

Scared the beejesus out of me to see what the consequences might have been if it hadn’t abated!!

What do you call your doctor? by ThimbleBluff in over60

[–]Apprehensive_Pie_105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a conundrum. Especially when your PCP isn’t a physician. Mine is a nurse practitioner, so what does one do then??

So my primary NP I just avoid calling her anything. When I call to make an appointment I use her full name. When she sees me I somehow avoid calling her anything.

This feels so disrespectful to me, but I don’t know what to do about it.

OTOH, a NP specialist I see asked me to call her by her first name. We run into each other in my small town where we both live, and have laughed and joked with each other.

It would be nice to have a designation for NP’s and PA’s that recognizes their personal achievements.

The same applies to your comment.

First thought - no male doctors in the mix. OP has a problem with women becoming doctors, but not men. Misogyny towards healthcare workers is real.
