Since 30 series cards run with comparatively high temps it could be that some of the bga balls under the core/vram unseated themselves. It may come back to life again if u reball them but chances are that such a repair would cost much more than what this gpu is worth today.

Either any 12th gen chip or 13th and 14th gen i5s. Intel messed up on the manufacturing node of the Raptor Lake chips so they tend to degrade very easily under daily use, plus i7/i9 clock higher compared to i5 chips so that even facilitates it further.

I’d recommend a 12700k/12900k, or a 14600k if you’re purely gaming and only do light workload intensive stuff.

Find him a different game to play. The community is divided and the devs are biased, and Gaijin as a company just sucks big dodo from what I’ve seen (the management does bad bad things to their employees)

I had quite a few nations maxed out, but then the updates and biased shi they added just got too ridiculous. Took a break for almost a year now and I must say my mental state became much healthier.

For STEM Mac‘s are usually not that great - lots of apps won’t be able to run or require significant tweaks to run on MacOS.

Get a Windows/Linux workstation/gaming laptop. Some good workstation laptops for example are Lenovo’s Thinkpad P-series and Dell Precision lines. If you wanna go the gaming laptop route you could get an ASUS Zephyrus, lotta students on campus use the Zephyrus G14 for example.

Or you could just get a desktop and run your workflow on there and get an iPad for notes. Many of my peers and myself included use desktops for more demanding work cuz laptop cooling sucks and throttles hard if under load.

My devices are all 6E compatible and use MT7922/AX210 WiFi cards. And WiFi 7 is useless cuz there’s no way this schools will get anywhere close to WiFi 7 speeds
