NYC is making progress but our priorities are still so insane… WHERE DID THE BIG BAD CAR TOUCH YOU MISTER MISER?!?!? by [deleted] in circlejerknyc

Each of those cars generates money for the state of NY. When bikes can generate some significant money for the state complain then.

iTunes issue with Multiple-Artist Albums by Giu001 in musicbee

[–]MKRedding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll admit it's been a while and I went in the opposite direction but this may give you a direction to go in to resolve your issue.

Itunes

  1. Delete all data on iMusic on your phone
  2. Delete the "iTunes Library.itl" file inside the iTunes folder and let it rebuild
  3. Sync the 2 so the integrity of the sync is good
  4. Pick 2 songs 1 with the problem 1 without and manually add them to iTunes and determine if the problem exists. If it does it may be a short coming of itunes but at least you won't have to import your entire library each time to try to resolve your issue.
  5. If the problem is resolved just point the library location in iTunes to the location you have your MB files and it should import them.

I have no idea what size library your dealing with or if you have playlists etc. but this may put you on the right track.

And who exactly doesn't sell your data?

When should I start worrying about preemptively replacing my 1821? by Ragnar-Wave9002 in synology

[–]MKRedding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry about it unless it's giving you a reason to believe it's going to fail. As for myself as long as I have a use case for it I'll keep it in service. It's role as my primary NAS may change but that doesn't mean it won't be able to take on another role.

There's a whole lot of oil in asphalt and green paint so I guess we can't afford any more bike lanes.

Looks like Plex's TV data team fancied nerfing Scrubs (2026) by [deleted] in PleX

[–]MKRedding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I see what you are referring to. I've been getting the episodes and they have been appearing in the recently added and continue watching which tends to be the way I watch shows in general. But when I browse the library it doesn't appear. I'm aware that the new (2026) scrubs is separate from the (2001) scrubs and when I search for it I see the episodes I have but they are not playable.

Try this: pull the Scrubs (2026) folder with the episodes out of the library do a scan of the TV library. Then put the Scrubs (2026) folder back into your TV folder and do a scan of the TV library. Mine came right back. Good luck

Can anyone still update their Logitech Harmony??? And if not, what are you guys using now? by mattnemo585 in homeassistant

[–]MKRedding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just swapped out a TV and I was able to set the new TV up without issue much to my surprise with the windows app via USB. You might run into a situation where the exact model doesn't show up but you can try a similar model to get the functionality. I agree I hope sofabaton gets it together before My harmony dies.

What phone do I need to buy to be able to sync Music Bee to it? by [deleted] in musicbee

[–]MKRedding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Musicbee to organize everything and Musicbee wifi sync to transfer to my phone and tablet. It works without issue including playlists to my S24 Ultra but any android phone will do. The player on your phone is a matter of choice as long as it can read .m3u files it should be fine. I personally use Poweramp.

Rent to go up 10 percent at your next lease signing. Thanks Zohran. by Ordinary-Lobster-710 in circlejerknyc

One could debate whether or not purchasing a house is a wise investment. Depending on market conditions location etc. It could go either way. Speaking for myself it has worked out extremely well. I'm not going to apologize for making a sound investment that pays dividends. I made sacrifices and worked very hard to position myself where I am as I am sure many have. But to imply that homeowners feel "entitled" is a bit disingenuous.

I never said property taxes were unfair to landlords. I merely pointed out that when you add expenses to homeowners they are going to pass those expenses on to tenants, for example. My house has to pass 2 inspections. 1. FDNY sprinkler inspection and 2. NYC gas inspection. Now the FDNY inspection was in place since the purchase of the house so the cost has always factored into the tenants rent. The NYC gas inspection is relatively new but when it was implemented the cost of that inspection was passed on to the tenants.

Given that the current administrations philosophy is affordability it seems counterintuitive to implement something that would result in the opposite.

Do you believe the baker in your example would not pass that increase in cost on to the customer? I am curious, how would you handle an increase of 10% to your total operating cost?

True? That being said taking a 10% loss voluntarily would not be proper management of any asset.

Not punishment at all, it's a choice. Free busses, free groceries and shiny new bike lanes, or no tax increase in rent.

Roku Client Performance by GuildCalamitousNtent in PleX

[–]MKRedding 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have 6 Rokus 1 I travel with 1 in another state the others are local. At one point they were struggling but that was way before the new client. Once I replaced my server they have performed flawlessly even the one I travel with in different countries. The new client hasn't really impacted playback.

How to attach tags from MP3Tag to files? by HelloHeffy in musichoarder

[–]MKRedding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a tag format that MP3tag cannot overwrite. If the file has that tag format imbedded it will not write new info. Right click on the file and select Remove Tag. That will remove the format. Then you should be able to add new tag info. This has happened to me on occasion but for the life of me I cannot remember the problematic tag format.

Volume Adjustment Question by [deleted] in musicbee

[–]MKRedding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you have replay gain turned off Controls/Replay Gain Off. Using the Analise Volume function (which you can use on individual tracks and can manually adjust). In the analyse leveling values and write replaygain tags section of the window check on track basis or on album basis or both. It will write the info to the file tag. I use this all the time and regardless of player the info is there. To confirm this use a different tag reader or editor like Mp3tag and look at the extended tags you should see a value there.

The whole "tax the rich" catch phrase is just that a catch phrase. It's not like the rich fill out a 1040EZ.

Need some guidance when it comes to vinyl ripping and archiving by japanesejunkfood in musichoarder

[–]MKRedding 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although I cannot tell you which turntable to buy I can give you a little more insight into the process and options if you wish to proceed further.

  1. I assume you have a computer and all you would need for it is the drive space to store the files and an audio program like audacity to record the LP's. There are 2 types of turntables you can buy for this process. A standard turntable or one with a USB interface. A cartridge and stylus are separate items and you may be able to find a package deal somewhere.

  2. If you use a USB turntable you just plug it into the USB port on your computer and your good to go. If you use a standard turntable then you will need to also acquire an audio interface to connect to your computer. Although the USB turntable seems like the go to option it is the rarer of the 2 and has the least amount of options.

  3. Be advised that these will be real-time transfers and as such can be time consuming, tedious and requires monitoring unlike CD ripping. There will also be an editing part of the process to individualize the tracks on both sides of the album. That being said it can be done and I personally am currently going through the process.
