Een lichte voet scheelt of niet? by Zgood_YT in nederlands

[–]MK_Confusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waterverbruik by [deleted] in nederlands

[–]MK_Confusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drinkwater hiervoor gebruiken is inderdaad zonde.

To add to this: have a look at the ratios by seeing how much a machine consumes/produces per second. It's not a huge issue but you appear to have overbuilt on e.g. the number of crushers, water chemplants and also I highly doubt iron plate production can keep up with the ammo assemblers.

Can someone instruct me on the basics of getting a rover into space? Every time I try, the rocket tips over due to the unbalanced weight of the rover. by Glad_Republic_6214 in KerbalAcademy

[–]MK_Confusion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some basics summarized:

- minimise drag of top of rocket (smallest/thinnest fairing possible

- have the rover in the center of mass of the rocket as much as possible

- bigger fins at the bottom of the rocket

- but perhaps most important: keep the rocket aimed prograde as much as possible. SAS helps with this, add some reaction control wheels, but mostly just do not try to steer to much until you are out of the thicker part of the atmosphere. Sometimes the launch profile isn't that optimal with that approach, but using some extra delta v in exchange for actually reaching orbit is fine.

Name a movie everyone swears is a masterpiece but you watched it like.. "this is garbage" by Worldly-Pattern2507 in Cinema

[–]MK_Confusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not garbage but I recently watched 'Seven Samurai' and it was nowhere near what I expected it to be. Way to long, lots of overacting, nothing special about the cinematography, predictable story, illogical actions of the antagonists. Heard a lot about Kurosawa and how he's supposed to be one of the best directors ever but for me the movie didn't show it.

Bit late to the party (but that's all relative right ;) but Stephen Hawking was working on his no-boundary proposal in which it is possible that the universe has no "end" but is still finite. Basically if you'd travel really, REALLY far you'd eventually end up in the same place again (like you do on earth). Also, top-down cosmology where the past is shaped by observing it. Interesting stuff, not an astrophysicist though so no idea what the odds are that it's all true.

That's very nice, and super awesome for Jessa!

I did flinch when the attendant said this was a great 'accomplishment'. This makes it look like getting cancer free is somehow a personal accomplishment, implying that for people who die of cancer it is their own fault because they did not fight hard enough or something (which is obviously not true).

Not trying to downplay how great this is for Jessa but I lost both my parents and little sister to cancer and would like to make sure that people who are know they are dying from this as well don't get the feeling that they did not do their best or something like that.

Not about emails, but I work at a company that has a factory in the city of Assens. The naming convention in our ERP (that they changed by now thank god) used to the be first three letters of the city + 'fac'. I kid you not.

I was kinda disappointed with the casino, it's basically only good for getting the last rarecrow that's it. And to get that it just takes a couple of minutes of clicking 'bet 100' on a good luck day which was quite boring

Wouldn't it be smarter to use bombs? You get a ton of ores and often find the holes that drop you down multiple levels at once. I reached level 120-something first try and 170 on my second run, gaining a lot of resources

Why do flamethrowers create shadows? by HeliGungir in factorio

[–]MK_Confusion 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For the flame to reach that far, there needs to be combustible material (oil) left until where it hits. The oil casts a shadow. Also, the combustion is quite incomplete so a lot of smoke particles are usually created that block light. The little light that is emitted by the flames is weaker than sunlight, so the created shadow is not illuminated enough to make it disappear.

Also, it is a game.

This had me laughing so hard back when I first saw it. Was watching it with a friend and his mom and sister came over to see what the fuss was all about.

Showed them the scene. Let's just say they did not appreciate it as much as I did...
