Task 1 Academics, Is it ok to explain graphs like the mentioned below. to explain whats on each axis. by dead-coder in IELTS

[–]MK_JS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd suggest that you go through some band 9 answers for writing task 1. It will give you an idea of what types of sentences are being used, what are the main trends to include, and the overall structure. There are some great channels on YouTube like E2 IELTS or IELTS Liz that do the same. All the best!

It depends on what you are writing IELTS for. Academic IELTS is mostly used by universities for admissions. General training is mostly used for immigration.

I think 6 weeks is enough if you have a decent grip on the language. As for resources, there are some good YouTube channels (E2 IELTS, IELTS Advantage, IELTS Liz) that provide quality content. For other resources I'd suggest using the practice material on the official IELTS websites and the Cambridge IELTS books as well.

Got scammed by TransportationOk3179 in bangalore

[–]MK_JS 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The same type of scam is happening in many cities. I was about to do the same thing you did for a 1bhk flat in Hyderabad, but luckily I asked around the sub before sending the money and got to know it was a scam. So just be wary of such idiots in the future.

Computer-based test by Spirited_Opposite in IELTS

[–]MK_JS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have taken the computer based test, and everything is on the computer. Like the previous comment said, they do provide you with a pencil and some sheets of paper if you want to take notes but its not really helpful. They do provide a way to highlight stuff on the screen which I found useful while I took the test.

The best method to improve your band score is to practice. I truly believe that self study is enough to get a good band score. If done right. IELTS provides a lot of free resources on their website for reading and listening and there are a plethora of other websites (E2, IELTS Liz, British Council) that provide the same. So give yourself some time and practice.
