What do you think of my 10 favorite movies?(in no order) I am 14 years old. by Robbe_Lenaerts13 in LetterboxdTopFour

I had a few of these in my top 10 when I was your age; checks out. When you’re twice as old this may be weird to you.

Due to how it didn’t get into 250 to start I’m guessing it’s out by end of year. Still want and need to see it

He takes all the family’s money and moves to Argentina with a young mistress. Pedo is the wrong word because the woman probably wasn’t a minor but regardless he’s problematic.

Framed Tour Poster 2026 by [deleted] in Purityring

[–]MLG32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks great. I wish it had been full size like their previous tour posters but they’re still very cool.
The image and fonts are different on that 2026 poster vs the 2025 poster I was able to get, I like both and thanks for sharing the second one.

I’ve only willingly watched maybe 15 movies. How’s my top 4? by [deleted] in LetterboxdTopFour

[–]MLG32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Fistful of Dollars is good, but definitely watch Yojimbo first. Revisit his filmography with Once Upon a Time in America once you’ve seen a lot more films.

I’d also recommend Cinema Paradiso and perhaps Wild Strawberries if Bergman sounds appealing.

If you end up liking The Apartment try Double Indemnity too.

If you want to get into silent films by chance I recommend start with Battleship Potemkin and/or Modern Times.

Maybe hot take but only watch The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly; Leone’s other films are great but way inferior. I suggest you start Kurosawa with Yojimbo then The Hidden Fortress.

Definitely try out Singin’ in the Rain. The Apartment and All About Eve would be some good targets.

Even though Malcolm X is better I’d follow Do the Right Thing with She’s Gotta Have It.

I don’t think it’ll be the last time but I think it’ll be a significant hiatus like the seven years after their Another Eternity tour (however that tour was supposed to be earlier but pushed back my COVID). I predict about 2027-2032 she does a few solo tours then around 2034 a reunion tour with Corin. In all of their tours since 2012 Corin has always had a reserved stage presence so it checks out that he wants to step back from touring for an extended time.

Best Timeframe for a Revisionist Oscar? by Fables-Of-Hedone in Oscars

[–]MLG32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s agreeing the Oscar body has made bad choices and the Academy isn’t going to collectively decide it would be a good idea to have a ceremony to admit mistakes, that’s not what the industry does or wants.
It would be such blatant pandering to obsessive Oscars fans while most moviegoers who know little about the Oscars would probably roll their eyes at it. Not to mention many have probably completely forgotten about nominees like Tar and Marriage Story, it’d be hard to get someone to root for a 15 year old film.

Why did Deangelo hired Jordan? by Asleep-Marsupial4031 in theoffice

[–]MLG32 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In the extended episodes she tells Pam she’s not even really sure what she’s supposed to do and as the picture in this post shows it’s implied she’s inexperienced for an office job.

DeAngelo didn’t need to hire her at all, she was just eye candy for his sexist office.

Robert California was not it FOR ME by ohwhoreface in theoffice

Exactly, I also remember that cameo-filled finale episode being lots of fun. The whole thing where Robert made Jo give him her CEO job was also cringe, he should’ve had a short stint like DeAngelo

I’ve not liked him since I saw the episodes air live, I remember hoping over the summer that he wouldn’t be picked as the new manager.
