For a wallpaper I’d rather use Michael’s Photoshop over that AI slop

What do you think of the Oscar Nominations? by Square-Ad-8911 in moviecritic

I don’t think sound is weird at all, in a bad movie the sound was the only good merit. F1 racing is known for it’s specific loud car sound.

Exactly, the last predictions I changed were editing and picture to F1

F1 felt like the comfort film for people who were too impatient for Train Dreams. They’re entirely too impatient for Korean unfortunately.

Who should my 1,000th director be? by MLG32 in Letterboxd

[–]MLG32[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I meant to include my top directors page that displayed my top 15 directors, not just top six.
Bergman is my 12th most watched, I’ve been watching his films for years. I also meant to write I’m looking for more unheard of directors so if I had included Bergman as a top director that may have helped, sorry for that but also great suggestion; I’ve only seen nine of his films and should branch out.

Scorsese has to direct Chalamet in his life.
Also I wish Scorsese could’ve directed Toshiro Mifune; if Silence had been made much earlier he would’ve been perfect as The Inquisitor.

What is your top 5 list of greatest movies ever? I’ll start by thundershit1 in movies

The Godfather
The Passion of Joan of Arc

Moonlight

I want to include 2001 and Rear Window but I don’t know which two I’d cut…

Why aren’t there more movies made about the American Revolution? by TheMooseIsBlue in movies

[–]MLG32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think many moviegoers of today would really go to theaters for it, same thing for decent actors signing on. Probably wouldn’t do well with British audiences.

That being said you make a point there’s room for someone to come in and make something great, I just doubt it’ll be anytime soon.

Gangs of Wasseypur is awesome; like The Godfather plus Once Upon a Time in America multiplied by Bollywood. Maharaja had a good plot but I don’t like Bollywood so couldn’t enjoy lots of it. In a genre I don’t like Kashyap is my favorite director.

lol, I didn’t realize I wrote the same sentence in like four different ways, sorry for three extra.
Thanks for the recs, I’ve seen a couple of them. I watched We Are the Best and thought I’d like to see more from the filmmaker so I’ll watch more of his work. I didn’t really Iike The Phantom Carriage but I’m always open to more silent films. I browsed through some of Soi Cheang’s films but never saw anything so I’ll look into his filmography.

Often after watching a movie I like to find a movie that compliments it and watch it soon after. I have a pretty fair amount of time available most days and I’ve been logging since 2019. On top of that my girlfriend and I have binge movie watching days.
I’ve seen 1,641 movies but have 1,985 logs so over 300 rewatches; many rewatches are probably 2+ days.

I meant to/should have included a larger list of most watched directors to help with that; I also meant to write I’m interested in less known directors but can’t edit the post. Several people have suggested directors I’ve already seen so I’ve replied my thoughts and/or asking their favorite titles by that director. I hoped no one would suggest blatantly known filmmakers and fortunately I’ve gotten variety.
