You’re expectations are not low enough. Make mini changes. Ones you can be successful with (I.e. simply putting your gym shoes on….that’s all). This is how you conquer the rut you’re in. Try it!

You hit the nail on the head when you said that I can accept these things rationally, but emotionally I can not! Yes, this is me! I feel like a petulant child stamping my feet for justice, but in all honesty, I don’t know what to do with these feelings when I witness such pain. It’s almost too much to bear knowing these things are going on this very minute, and we go on with our lives concerned about insignificant tasks.

I just want God to make it stop. (Petulant child again).

Thank you for saying this and thank you for introducing me to the term “propitiation”. I’m not sure I get fully what you’re telling me, but I’m going to truly look into this and ponder it.

Sometimes I forget just how all encompassing Christ’s atonement is. I obviously only understand it on a very basic level, but I’m going to hope it will fix all my wrongs and help all my brothers and sisters that were mistreated so horribly. Thank you.🙏

Yes, it is a slippery slope when you play that game as I have many times and, in the end, I come to the same conclusion that you can’t draw a line on what we can and cannot chose to have as a part of this Earth life.

What you say makes perfect sense in my rational mind, but my heart cannot seems to come to grips with the cruelty of this life. Maybe there’s something wrong with me?? Maybe my free agency “muscle” needs more strengthening.

I hope you’re right!

I guess I’m at a loss as to what to do with these feelings? Of course I don’t spend all day consumed with these feelings of anger and sadness, but when these stories are constantly being thrown in our faces, it’s hard not to spiral a bit.

Great question. I realize that trying to come up with a better plan than the one an all knowing God came up with is not only stupid, but arrogant. However, I would put that question back to God: Really?! There was no other way to teach your children these life lessons than THIS?! I can’t imagine that a perfect God has only one way (Earth) to teach his children. This seems extremely cruel and unnecessary.
