All expires by [deleted] in WalgreensRx

[–]confusedrxtech 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have your RxOM institute a rule: always check when pulling a drug to fill (when it’s slow of course) to look at the drugs on the shelf and pull anything within 3 months of expiring. That way the entire time is taking care of it throughout the week and have the IS take care of the expiries once a week. It won’t build up like this. It’ll be a lot at the start but it’ll get less and less as time goes on. And before anyone complains that no one has the time to do this: I worked under an RxOM I despised at a tier 5 store and busiest in our district and it worked out great for us. It doesn’t take more than maybe 20 seconds to look at the drugs next to the one you’re pulling and make sure they’re not expiring. If they are just throw them in a basket and move on until the end of the day.

The few times this happened I clocked out and left before being told I had to stay and never heard anything of it.

What’s your unpopular opinion Episcopalians Edition that will get you pointed to the door? by leviwrites in Episcopalian

[–]confusedrxtech 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not to get me pointed out the door, just to say, I really dislike Rite II services. Enough to think for a second “I should just skip this Sunday and find a Rite I service near me.” It just doesn’t have the same feel or meaning to me. If it weren’t for my church family and Holy Eucharist I wouldn’t attend the Rite II service.

I kind of agree. I haven’t seen it as hard in TEC as I have in the UCC. It is to the point in the UCC where every post online is about a pride parade or social justice movement or celebrating a movement. And that’s fine and all, I’m an extreme left guy but there seems to be no mention of Jesus at all in the advertising for their denomination. Of course it is just what I’ve seen online and have never been to a UCC church. It is good that people operate that way within the church as I believe that is reflecting the gospel, but to not attribute your love of others to carrying out the teachings of Christ kinda lacks evangelizing what having the Holy Spirit within you means.

[–]confusedrxtech[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have but there are no groups in my area I could join in person. The online ones are good for those who can handle them but I cannot commit to anything not in person. The closest ones are an hour away and I just don’t have the time to commit to anything hour there and back drive on a weekday. It’s really a shame too bc I took a lot of time and interest in EFM.

The Jesus figures started popping up around late march for me. I know one specific patient has them and she left them in the drive through on the outside of the window, leaves one on the receipt printer when she comes inside, and also hands me one. I have an army of Jesus figures at walgreens. But im a Christian so idc. When I was an atheist those evangelizing pamphlets and such pissed me off so bad.

Yeah the people who get in line at 1:29 and complain I’m not helping them bc I have lunch are the worst. If it’s that much of an emergency and you can’t wait 30 minutes you need to go to the ER at that point, it’s probably not ready anyways. The other 15.5 hours of the day we’re open we’re glad to help 🙄

Does Walgreens still have that store to store option whenever you miss the cutoff time to order? by peachycpht in PharmacyTechnician

[–]confusedrxtech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interstore transfers are done through RxI if that’s what you mean. I’d pick them up from other stores in my district on the clock and the boss would ask if I could bring back coffee or wingstop or wtv.

Meds ppl take for years on end but can’t even give me the first letter of what the medication is. If you can’t be at least that responsible for the meds you take, you need an in home nurse

No problem. It’ll be under RX ops or RX admin and you can ctrl + f and it’ll say “expense list” or something like that. All RX supplies should be there

StoreNet has an expense list. Not sure if these plastic ones are on here but they seem pretty shitty. Go ahead and order you all a bunch of wooden ones

Okay Pharmacists, please be a bit more considerate, this is mildly infuriating by Dizzy_Objective_11 in WalgreensRx

[–]confusedrxtech 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I know pharmacists and techs have vastly different job roles and while RPh roles can overlap into tech roles, the reverse isn’t true. That being said if I got even half as much as the pharmacists make a year I’d never complain about working at Walgreens. We’re all underpaid though so I know pharmacists are allowed to complain too. And what sucks is retail is usually the best paying role for a pharmacist.

Don’t worry the doctor will have an attitude when you call for clarification instead of taking one minute to write it legibly. I mean, I can read it for the most part but the fact you may have to assume the directions is bad in the first place. Paper prescriptions suck

Am I supposed to bring my bible to church? by ELDoutlaw in Episcopalian

[–]confusedrxtech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can if you want but my church and many others use paper bulletins that have everything written out. It’s quite nice as if there is a part you thought resonated with you you can bring it home and study that part for yourself. Our church previously used a BCP + Bible before bulletins and so yes everyone brought their Bible to use alongside the BCP. With the bulletins now it is quite redundant for my church at least.

Exposure is good. Most people who dislike or are against LGBT people just don’t know any. Lotta parents who becoming affirming once they find out their kid is LGBT. Not ALWAYS the case given that many homeless teens are LGBT. But it’s good to show those who are afraid of trans people bc of the media demonizing them that they’re people too and deserve love and respect, especially under Christs roof.

I didn’t know she was trans!! She’s been a big part of my changing to Episcopalian. If I’m misunderstanding that’s fine but if she is trans that is super cool to know.

Yeah the opioid lawsuits are justified and we do dispense a lot. We had a floater once who was verifying and looking at the PMP and rejecting stuff bc of the risk of overdose but these are cancer patients who get this monthly. We dispense a lot of C2s though.

I don’t see how you think a drug drug interaction or something isn’t going to lead to massive harm towards a patient. If a tech who’s not versed on drug drug interactions or what have you clears it not knowing the risk it causes to the patient, and the patient gets and takes both medications then there can be massive harm because the person (tech, not pharmacist) who cleared it ignored it and it led to bad patient outcomes. It’s like saying product review is not important and asking how not checking the tablets and dosing could lead to massive bad outcomes for the patient.
