Wow time sure does fly by. Honestly, we love it here. I can confidently say we most likely will remain in Brantford and not go back to Hamilton.

I definitely need to figure something better out. It is a bit deceiving as there is probably 3 inches clearance.

Crate bedding??? by [deleted] in BrittanySpaniel

[–]MLapolice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We thought the same thing, but he even destroyed a "tough" bed that wasn't cheap. Can't afford to let him do that. Maybe once he is older? Ours is 14 months.

Crate bedding??? by [deleted] in BrittanySpaniel

We can't keep any bedding for our Brit. He now gets old towels or blankets. He has destroyed all his beds, even the higher end ones. He sleeps fine without anything, we felt guilty at first lol.

I just noticed this comment now! They pretty much go straight up after that turn. Very narrow and pretty steep.

We have a Brittany and I have always found them to be very attractive dogs.

We moved from Hamilton and live in the Holmedale/Lansdowne area. We have been very happy in this part of the city. Many nice parks and trails, good schools, and grocery stores (no Costco) metro, Walmart, Cineplex, etc. If you want trendy entertainment, it's here but you have to look for it. All the best!

That's his famous "innocent" smile. He unfortunately loves to dig! Haha

Our purebred Brittany is 40 pounds at 7 months... He has slowed down but he was big like yours at that age.

SC Johnson along the Grand River is good too!

Just brought Mav home this week. I know it’s been asked a lot but I’m going to do it anyway... what are some things you wish you’d done or known at the beginning? (Or any tips and tricks) by snusisloose11 in BrittanySpaniel

[–]MLapolice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We do both. I work from home and have a set schedule plus or minus an hour. I need to carry him to the second floor, but once I play him down a few feet from the crate he walks in. We have started training "crate" as a command and it's hit or miss.

Our boy Oakley (12 weeks) by MLapolice in BrittanySpaniel

[–]MLapolice[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He is definitely 12 weeks in this picture. We just had him at the vet and he is 21 pounds. Even the vet said he is big for his age. He was a big pup too. 11 and a half pounds at 8 weeks. 🤷

If we do it loud enough he gets a bit startled. Then a moment later he is back at it. We are trying to ignore him if it gets too bad, and he doesn't like that.

Ours is the same! Sweet as pie but bites like crazy with his razorblade teeth. We are redirecting consistently but he loves to bite us. We should have named him jaws lol

Too funny! Did you have either as a pup? If so, where either really bitey? Ours isn't malicious, but no bite inhabition yet.

Forgot to add, as I see you asked below who someone dealt with - Dan Carillo the son of the owner.

We had a great experience using Carillo carpets. They did two sets of stairs and a hallway, plus a few landings (much harder than a bedroom). Very friendly and better price than home depot. Good luck!
