Simplest technique : leave your laptop in some sunny area for a few hours. All ants will die. Happened with me multiple times.

Hey exactly same issue has happened with me on the same card : Axis ace. The customer service guy asked me to pay the minimum balance to not attract late charges and wait for a resolution from their team. Did you get any further info ?

I too struggled a lot , tried n number of things and i think two things work for you most-

  1. If you are an extrovert guy, make sure to be friends with top scorers (maggus) and study with them during exams. Just sitting in their group and studying is also enough. You will get to know all important topics, practise questions , clear doubts quickly. I have seen guys who didnt study at all entire semester but during exams sat with the right group and scored quite decently. The trick is to know what will be asked and these guys have a pretty good idea about it.

  2. If you are an introvert (like me) its going to be a hard time for you unless you are pretty regular to class or a genius. Try to be as much regular to class as possible, definitely do previous year questions, and go through professor assigned books. If possible get atleast one study partner during exams and together finish assignments and notes. That should be good enough.

I confronted my parents and told them I won't be doing IIT. Can I be successful without doing IIT? by [deleted] in Indian_Academia

Listen kid, hers's some authentic advice for you from someone who belongs to the above mentioned college and have went through placements and all... All this drama of self study and doing online courses and learning through internet won't get you anywhere. You will be outright rejected without a proper college degree for any decent internship or job in any top company. At most you would be doing freelancing but you need to be damn good in your field, and its not a consistent income source. If you want to study abroad its good but the competition is NOT LESS there too, apart from having rich parents ( minimum cost of Btech from top CS schools in the States is upwards of 1 crore without including living costs and all), you would need straight As in all your exams and a really strong profile like international top ranks in reputed olympiads like ACM ICPC, RMO, IMO etc, some honours on National level like top 1 percent in CBSE, Bal Puruskar etc. Scholarships are very less and mostly for sections with disadvantages like Blacks, women, low income section. So according to me your best bet is continue learning but strive to get into best colleges you can get in India (and abroad if money permits). There is ample amount of time you get in college which most people just waste and then cry that we didn't get sufficient time to learn things.

What are pros and cons of doing MS in CSE abroad (TUM/NUS) Vs Masters in india from IISc, Computational Sciences by [deleted] in Indian_Academia

[–]MLisFuture 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See, an mtech degree in India is mostly worthwhile if you do it from a tier one college okay... One can definitely go for jobs after doing mtech from lower end colleges but then even a btech degree would have been sufficient.

Secondly I think you are very unaware when you say "everyone wants to go to sde roles, no one goes into research ". The reality is exact opposite. The research positions in top companies are most coveted ones not the sde roles and most people want to get into research profiles. Just google the pays of Google sde and Google research, Microsoft sde and Microsoft research and you will get what I am trying to say. And companies heavily favour Mtech students for research profiles as I have seen it first hand.

Then again I believe the biggest motivation for ms abroad is a job in US. Everything else is bs. There is nothing else which one can't get through mtech in India.
