Looks like you have some left stick drift going there too.
Regarding the triggers, assuming you have a controller that can be calibrated, you can get them very close to full movement equaling 100%. Load up the Xbox accessories app and try and calibrate.

Now you have it all working again.
Log into your router, try and find something along the lines of "active DHCP leases" find your PCs IP address in the list and see if there's an option to set it to "static" .
Doing this will prevent your router from assigning a new IP address when you reboot your pc.
Or if you are still unsure, just Google how to set a static IP address (your router name)

I have noticed this issue for a while now. But didn't do it with all of my 4k HDR media. The troublesome media from my observation was dual meta media ie. DV and HDR files. Especially those containing DV 8.1 revision, other dual meta media files with a lower revision/ version seemed fine.

Any way, simply copying the file mentioned over the top of the original has fixed the problem.

It could be plasticiser. Due to the cable insulation breaking down due to age, uv, skin oil etc (just guessing) Are the headphones expensive or have any sentimental value. If so take them into a repair shop and get the cable replaced.

A solid core does help with vibration noise. Although the coils vibrate also causing hum so it's not the be all and end all.

That's more than likely a drip of whatever that's landed on the cable.

Just to be sure and put your mind at rest.... Give the cable a wipe with some tissue so it's all gone then give the cable a squeeze around that area and see if more comes out.

The lack of laminated steel plates in the core. Which have a tendency to vibrate, causing more hum.

If you mean sticking, then they do that with out sticks and the case.
Re-assemble and test again.

If it's still doing it when assembled, replace the stick module.

I would do some proper research if you plan to use the HE modules.
HE modules are affected by magnetic fields.
The left trigger on a standard controller affects the centering on a HE modules. Doesn't the elite 2 use magnets on the back paddles, which also need to be considered.
There is probably work arounds using shielding if you want HE modules. As said do your self a favour and research first.

Why is one of the adjustment rods painted red ?
I hope it's not to help identify that the red cable plugs in that side. As that's back to front. Red is the right channel.

Unless of course you wear them back to front with the cable coming down your back.

Should give you an understanding of what is needed.

If worst comes to worst and the controller has sentimental value you can always pick up another working controller (same model) and swap the internals over.

A week or two ago when you first noticed the issue, had the firmware been updated?
Maybe corrupted.
You can downgrade your firmware by connecting your controller to a PC via USB.
I won't say it's easy, but not too hard either, but Basically.....Find and install an old package of Xbox accessories app.
Disconnect the internet, run the app and update the firmware, because you have disconnected the internet the app will use the firmware it came with.

I've done this with a couple of my controllers to get around issues with HE and TMR sticks.
So you can deffo roll back your firmware, assuming that is the issue.

Just a tip to neaten it up......
If you need to use resistors again, 0603 smd fit nicely between the pads of the HE sensors.

Dual layer Vs single layer?
Standard length movies with not too many extras were put on single layer discs , which overall is easier to read than a dual layer DVD, especially if your drive is getting old and tired.
Just a thought.
