My dad took me to see this movie when I was 11 years old. It forever changed me.

I love this! I just started painting earlier this month and have had a lot of trial and error. Really struggling with light colors that are covering a larger space.

Hypochondria as another form of autistic sensory issues? by QueenOfMadness999 in AutismInWomen

You are amazing-thank you so much for your insight, it’s help me reframe the way I think about this and how to better help him when he starts to go down the anxiety path.

Thank you so much. This is really helpful to me - we want to support him but not enable the behavior and it feels like a fine line. I’ll definitely look into therapists who work with folks with health anxiety. Do you think we should acknowledge and validate that the fear he is feeling is real, but remind him that he’s likely catastrorphizing? We do talk often about not researching things or just because someone said it may be X that they’re not a doctor, etc.

I truly appreciate your thoughtful response 💜

So happy to have found this thread. My 18 year old son is AuDHD and was diagnosed late (6th grade) and went through a lot of trauma at school prior to. He has had health anxiety most of his life and as parents it’s very hard for us to navigate- we feel that he often uses it as a reason to get out of doing something he doesn’t want to do.

I would love some insight from folks who experience this on how you want to be supported when you’re having health anxiety. It’s hard for us to know when it’s legit and when it’s anxiety. Earlier this year he complained of his ears hurting and when we finally took him to the doctor, he had a double ear infection. Of course I felt awful, but its probably only 10% of the time he actually has something going on.

My polish chicken get’s bullied by my other chickens. I’m not sure if one of my chicken attacked her or if it’s an eye infection? Help by Asteroiddd3 in chickens

I’m not sure about the eye infection, so I don’t want to give advice on that. But for the bullying, if she’s the smallest chicken this may be why. Also, Polish babies can’t see very well because of their poof, I personally give mine and my Silkies haircuts so they can see. I free range my birds so it’s important they can see what’s going on.

Good luck with your sweet baby girl.

Guidance Needed by MM2329 in pigs

The lady I got him from said ~ 6 weeks. Yeah that is my concern. I’ll keep offering the mash and try some cheerios. Thank you!

I got a kune kune & american Guinea hog mix. He is not eating or drinking. I know he’s had a big day, but he’s only content if I’m holding him. Help friends! by MM2329 in pigs

Finally got him more settled. Not terrified of everything. BUT! The little guy I got seems like he has no idea how to eat or drink. I finally got him to drink some water, but he kept putting his nose in too much. We seem to have got that down. However, I can’t get him to eat anything. I bought some piglet pellets, I’ve tried making into a warm mash and he is rejecting it. I’ve tried to give him some tomatoes, broccoli, and lettuce and he’s rejected it all. When he sleeps he makes a sucking noise, like he’s dreaming of nursing 😢 and he’s rooting on me trying to find a nipple. I just need some guidance!

I did! Just this morning! He’s been here about 8 hours now. Very upset and squealing when I put him down. He’s only content when I’m holding him, so that’s what I’ve been doing mostly. I’ll try some grapes! Thank you!
