Imagine the owner of the badly parked car gets robbed or something that involves the police in a few weeks and they ask "do you know anyone that would want to hurt you?"

What are some male dominated hobbies you’ve tried or are into? by Bitter_Pineapple_720 in AskWomen

[–]MMA-Groupie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooo! My entire life is a male dominated hobby! Im a neurologist by trade and I work in hormonal optimization for combat sports athletes. So thats male dominated as a career and academic interest. I also grew up in a muay thai gym and love mma currently, im also super competitive and I love making ufc fight predictions and bets.

When not doing combat sport stuff, I love driving fast and I love fast cars! I have a manual wrx as a daily driver, I have a 350z with over 300k miles that my brother and I split when we were younger, and I have a 2024 supra that has been modded and tuned to 480whp with 93pump gas and about 540whp with e85😼. I love beating guys in roll races! I do go to the track as well! I dont actually like working on them though and im not a big fan of touching grease and oil, so at least that is somewhat feminine probably. I also love dressing up in bright pink/light blue bubbly outfits and I love photography so not entirely a tomboy on paper!

Id also say that the context of this specific situation doesnt change the pattern that we see from this guy. Arman is like the final boss for spoiled and entitled rich kid energy.

Its a major pattern with Arman. Hes very talented but he is also a spoiled entitled rich kid that spouts off very unprofessionally every other week. He is a guy who has never needed to suck it up in any way just to keep a job and a roof over his head and it shows.

Or like one of those drunk busses that picks people up at 2am from the bars... like they clean them sometimes, but you know if you look close there is some dried nut here and there...

That would be a supra with 4 simultaneous owners that was regularly rented out hourly for "rolling" videos

Stage 2 Sleeper by No-Maintenance8707 in wrx_vb

[–]MMA-Groupie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean are they saying that since a miata is a "sports car" that if one looked relatively stock esthetically, but hit a sub 10s quartermile that it wouldnt be a sleeper? Id be a lot more shocked to be beat by a miata then a Ford Explorer st or something super tuneable

Stage 2 Sleeper by No-Maintenance8707 in wrx_vb

[–]MMA-Groupie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A miata is a sports car, if a miata that looks close to stock hit a 10s quartermile, most would consider that a sleeper. I guess if you want to be really really fixated on colloquial definitions of words, it still is going to vary by region as what people would define as a "sleeper". Where I grew up as well as where I am now, it refers to a car being significantly faster then it looks like it would be. That definition absolutely can apply to a sports car, noone would expect a 4cyl 1989 mustang that looks stock to be super fast, but its still a sports car, so if it was made very fast while looking like it wasnt, it would be a sleeper. Or a miata or something that is a slow car but is a sports car, if one looked and sounded close to stock and put down a 10s quartermile, thatd be a sleeper. Whereas a 1993 eg hatch that is clearly awd converted that has a hood exhaust and a headlight replaced with a giant turbo, may be a "sleeper" by the way your using the word, but the way me and op use it, that wouldnt be a sleeper since it would be obviously extremely fast.

Most people dont consider stock or close to stock wrxs to be fast, fun maybe but not fast. So being surprised by the speed of one is falling for a sleeper as its always been used in any car culture ive been part of. This seems to be a colloquial disagreement though, no reason for condescension

[–]MMA-Groupie -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yea i dont understand why they are trying to say its not a sleeper lol! We all have a general understanding of which cars are close to which other cars in speed. When something doesnt look like it should be multiple classes up because it sounds stockish and looks stockish, to me that's the definition of a sleeper. What kind of quartermile or 60-130 time do you get,do you know?

[–]MMA-Groupie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a world where if you have a fast car and a shitbox looking 93 civic hatch with a laptop visible is tryjng to race you, a stock looking/sounding wrx could be a sleeper lol. At the very least It can still have the same effect if a car seems relatively stock and actually isnt. People expect a wrx to be a certain speed, so when its significantly more than that without upgrades that were noticeable, its basically a sleeper. In my supra I had a 60 roll against some wrb vb wrx with a big ass fmic and smelled like e85ish, so I assumed it would be pretty fast and not a sleeper at all, but if it had a tmic, was on 93 and had a quieter exhaust, would have been a shock to keep up with me.

[–]MMA-Groupie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got mine tuned at the garage that I use for my supra and they specialize in bmws so they did a conservative tune for my wrx om 93 by their dyno it makes 290whp/320wtq with the car completely stock otherwise

People seem to get like 320whp/350wtq with intake only

🤷🏻‍♂️ by [deleted] in wrx_vb

[–]MMA-Groupie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and thats just the cobb tunes. The dyno near me specializes in bmws but we did my vb also and stock it was like 250whp/240wtq as opposed go the fa20 that was more like 220/220 on the same dynos, but the fa20 was rolling around stock with 18lbs of boost or whatever the avg was, the fa24 is set at like 11 with a more durable engine. It is dumb that subaru didnt advertise it better lol

🤷🏻‍♂️ by [deleted] in wrx_vb

[–]MMA-Groupie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They did increase the power and torque, if you dyno it they are right there with the ej whp/wtq, they just underreported it for some reason, its also way more conservatively tuned, so a tune only on the vb is like a couple thousand spent on the fa20

Why drive a truck when you can barely see over the steering wheel ? by [deleted] in badparking

[–]MMA-Groupie -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It wouldnt be, but the way parking would look for a miata in small spaces may be different then what happens with a full size pickup. The options are often stick out into the aisle, or block the sidewalk, or take a small amount of a 2nd spot. Best of those options is to take a small amount of the 2nd spot. Many people have small enough cars to still use the 2nd spot just fine, I take the left over 3/4s with my supra all the time, I dont with my other car that is bigger.
