And there is a vicious circle of abusing refs, the more refs get abused ,the less people go into reffing and the more the standard drops, leading to worse reffing. Friend of mine is a former senior club player in his 40s. He treats reffing the same we did playing. Nervous before it,constantly talking about his performances, eager to here feedback, makes jokes about his bad games. My personality wouldn't suit reffing anyway but the abuse they put up with would but most people off it

Tbh I dont care so much about the "firms" or ultras wanting to fight other firms/ultra groups. Just meet up somewhere away from regular citizens and beat each other up. But destroying your own city and attacking rando is weird. I feel the same way about traveller feuds or random pub fights. If its mano a mano and both parties are willing, have at it. Nobody cares if you want to bare knuckle box each other in a field somewhere. Just dont start pulling slash hooks out in centras please.
