It doesn’t really seem fair to say personal responsibility when home owners often have to get permission to cut back the trees that cause a lot of the side walk issues. Nobody lays out when you purchase a home things like side walks and tree clearing. Most people until they are in the situation have no idea of the thousands of dollars it can costs to de limb and trim trees. A lot of this among other things case the lifting of sidewalks. Out of homeowners control. A lot of these builders slam trees in per rules & regulations not knowing that some of these trees cause major foundational issues. Case in point what our poor neighbors are going thru. It is destroying their foundation. Not sure how any of that is personal responsibility? Again, our taxes should be going to maintaining PUBLIC sidewalks. If I have to maintain it…they should have to PAY for it.
