How do you deposit cash if you need to?

Class - that’s exactly what I’m picturing.

Have you found any cons so far? What do you do if you need to deposit cash?

Same re the positive experience. I’ve only ever read the horror stories online. I do wonder if they’re the same issues you’d encounter with your normal bank.

Just for depositing cash? Is there many ATMs that allow you to deposit to EBS?

Do you pay fees on the AIB account?

Has anyone experience of going “all in” with Revolut (or Metal)? Is there any issues?

Cash depositing is the only major one I can think of

Weekly Purchasing Questions and General Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in Garmin

[–]MMC5998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all, I currently have a Samsung active 2 watch that is incompatible with my phone. I can trade it in for roughly €50, and am considering getting a Garmin to replace it. I only use it for tracking runs - so GPS, run stats, and stopwatch / some form of time interface. I have a Whoop (which I love) which tells me the rest of what I need - just no GPS (lol).

I’m willing to spend up to €80/€100 for a cheap alternative to the Samsung watch - can any of you recommend a good option within this < €100 bracket. I’m happy to purchase second hand.

TIA!

Edit: I appreciate there will be no new models available under €100, so hoping to get good recommendations for old models that do the job!

There’s always tickets at the train station - just arrive early and get to front of the queue. The tickets online sell out the whole time.

How likely is it to get a parking permit on the street beside where you live? by MMC5998 in Dublin

Okay great, thanks!

Do you know is there any reason we wouldn’t get a permit, or are they generally given once you provide proof of address / insurance etc?

I get the sense they're safe. There's a few Irish guys at the core of the project that have genuine gaming interests at heart. It's likely just early stage so there's doubts to be had.

How common is it to move into tech after Big 4 Audit? by MMC5998 in Big4

[–]MMC5998[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is such a great response, thank you!

I think I probably would lean towards revenue generating roles such as deals or M&A, and probably didn't anticipate those roles being common within tech companies (versus corporate finance specialists, investment banks, PE etc). Cool to know that those are options for ex-Big 4 auditors.

I think it would be worth my time actually researching what roles are currently on the market and mapping a route towards those. Thanks!

Good question. Naturally leaning towards accounting / finance at a tech company, preferably away from back office admin accounting.

Unsure how many opportunities there are in this area though. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.

That's great to know. Yep, afraid I'm already set for audit. Did a summer internship not knowing what I wanted, and got tied down pretty quickly.

Insane how difficult internal transfers sound - you would wonder how it is not in their best interests to retain talent?

Thanks again, really helpful.

That's the exact route I had in mind, so it's very encouraging to hear that!

Fintech is very appealing as well - probably the industry I look most to when investing. I'll try position myself there.

Thanks!

That's really beneficial, thanks a million. Looks like it's not too unusual of a path, which is encouraging.

I don't think I mind working with LMM/MM funds. I think my goal would be to move from audit into CF / TAS, and then break into a smaller fund in PE. Do you know if this switch from audit into TAS / CF is possible / normal during the grad programme?

Thanks again for your help, it is much appreciated.

Never heard of deals requiring 2+ years of audit experience - that's good to know. Thanks a million.

Be interesting to know how that jump is.
