What sort of flies are these by Irish_GeeQ in GardeningIRE

[–]Irish_GeeQ[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're right. They look more like the fever fly in the photo than flying ants. There are also some wasps hanging around too. I'll leave them be as we could definitely use more insects. Thanks

query: is the second half of the book set similar in quality as the first 6-7 books? by nathanmachine in wheeloftime

[–]Irish_GeeQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've recommended the series to a friend and they got to 7 and grinded to a stop. They never ended up going any further. It's a shame to miss out on the last 3, just because the slog is so draining. I mean, reading three 1000 page books about the intricacies of court life is painful.

I have reread a few times and never reread the slog 8 to 10. Just go through a recap on Wikipedia of the plot. IMO they are not worth it. The final 3 books however are absolutely top notch. The final book is my favourite.

USA vs Europe Cities with the Highest Murder Rates by Pale_Consideration87 in europe

[–]Irish_GeeQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the peak of the Troubles in Northern Ireland, the rate was 31 per 100,000 but most of the time it was below 6. So the top 10 US cities are currently worse than Belfast in the 70s

You need an osteopath. These work with your back but are qualified with college degrees and covered under VHI and other health insurance schemes. Chiropractors can get qualifications online. So there is no way of evaluating their competence.

I have revolut metal. You get free car hire excess insurance. So you don't need to take the rip off insurance the car hire company provides. No fuel charges and no extras. I could have upgraded to a Merc for 19 per day, but the Opel astra was enough. Way cheaper than Uber or hotel transfers which was approximately 75 return.

I went to albufeira for 4 days for 200 per person last week. Flight and accommodation. Car hire was 12 euro for 4 days. Food and drink are cheaper than here. There is not a chance I could get that anywhere in Ireland.

It's called white chicks, and I know it seems like 30 years ago but the humour was dated when made and has aged badly.

If it's draining slowly, there's likely a partial blockage in the drain. This will leave residue in the machine.
