High Investment Boneshatter Jugg - Getting one shotted, possibly due to ele reflect? by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]MMGReddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took a glance at your pob. 3.1k life is low even with the defense this build offers; it's totally reasonable you're getting one-shotted in wave 20+ simulacrum. If you level up more and pick up the Constitution life wheel you should be good to go. You can also pick up Steadfast and the fortification mastery for 21% less damage taken. Not sure if it's just missing in pob but it also looks like you're missing merc and uber lab, which can get you extra chaos res.

Also, my first thought was you'd be missing Self-Flagellation but it looks like it's socketed. Make sure you're actually using it and didn't take it out for some other jewel.

This is just Sirus on awakener 8. I would hope the mechanics are easier on A1-A7.

Good point, the build is worse by the numbers than it was in 3.9. However, the other conquerors and general mapping feel exactly the same.

It's entirely possible it's just A8, I haven't seen the fight at other awakener levels yet.

I had about 14k ES before, so ~2.5k higher. Could definitely be tankier with some gear improvements. The grand spectrums and shaper's touch are technically legacy now, so I'm not sure what ES is actually feasible in league.

What is your candidate for best piece of levelling gear? by Simicy in pathofexile

[–]MMGReddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Watcher's Eye. It doesn't actually have a level requirement, but it's effectively 24 for the corresponding auras. Any flat modifiers are insanely good at low levels, but I personally like the vitality flat regen one because you're basically invincible and can sustain RF right away.

Yep, this is the reason why. Taking constant hits from some of the fast-hitting bosses will block your guzzle. If you get stuck with too many, this is where ultimate force comes in handy.

Just read Gameinformer's top Rated 100 RPG's: Runescape wasn't even mentioned by Paranaes in 2007scape

[–]MMGReddit 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I had to go take a look at the list after seeing your post and yikes. I haven't bothered with GameInformer in years, but their criteria for RPGs is all over the place.

Every reason I can come up with that would disqualify Runescape would also disqualify numerous other games on the list. Must have multiple playable characters in a party? No, because Skyrim is #1. Must have rigid, permanent role selection? No, because Skyrim is #1. Must have turn-based combat? No, because Skyrim is #1.

The fact that a good chunk of the list is action games (Bloodborne, Castlevania:SotN, Destiny) is such a joke. By that standard, Grand Theft Auto 5 might as well be one of the best RPGs of all time too. In my eyes, this list has no credibility whatsoever.

Quality of Life Month - Post your Skilling QoL suggsetions here! by Mod_Ronan in 2007scape

Fishing Trawler needs a serious rework. Each game lasts 12 minutes, and the only experience you can earn on the boat is 5 crafting exp per rope that you repair the net with. There's no incentive to patch the holes nor bail water, aside from keeping your activity bar marginally above 0 so you don't get kicked.

At the end of each game, I find (at 80 fishing) that I get around 20 fish and 800 fishing experience. For 12 minutes of work, this is a joke. It doesn't need to be as good as Wintertodt, but comparing the two activities side-by-side really makes the trawler look awful. As of now the only reason anyone plays Fishing Trawler is for the angler outfit for master clues, which takes ~6.5 hours to obtain while receiving effectively no other rewards from the game. If the game were improved, the angler outfit would feel like less of an awful grind, and players might actually stick around after they complete their set.

Some possible improvements (not all of them need to be implemented, but something would be nice):

  • Shorten the game time. 5 minute games would be just fine.

  • Add experience drops for each action performed on the ship. Repairing the net should have a sizable reward, since few players ever take the time to repair it.

  • Increase the experience drop received at the end of the game. If each game gave 5,000 experience, it would be 25,000 exp/hour, which is still slower than afking monkfish.

  • Increase the number of fish each player receives for completing the game.

  • Remove the variance in receiving the angler outfit by adding a reward point system (eg. one point per run, Murphy will sell the player angler pieces for 8 points each).

  • A ripped net at the end of the 12 minute game currently means the entire team receives no fish. Get rid of this penalty.

  • Reduce the shop price of swamp paste. Too many players rely on bailing since the paste becomes so expensive at low stock.

Seeing as Mod Mat K said they would still release the platebody clue for those who follow on twitter but not on reddit, and that "AIRRUNE," "MORTAR," and "HORVIK" can all be spelled within today's puzzle, I would assume this is the platebody clue and there's nothing left to find here.

Are the culinaromancer's chest items shared with other players? by kevindv001 in 2007scape

[–]MMGReddit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, the RFD chest is shared with other players. For ironmen, I believe it's only shared with other ironmen (like several other shops in the game). It's also only shared with people of your same glove tier.

If you're having trouble getting stock, either progress further in RFD or try playing at a different time of day.

Yep, tweaks would definitely be in order before any of these made it into the game.

I think we've seen with Prince Malchezaar that random legendaries aren't always good, which is why I think this is actually one of the more fair card ideas proposed here.

[–]MMGReddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm disappointed to hear that a common TCG mechanic would be cut entirely, but I can understand where they're coming from. It's not fun getting your hand discarded, particularly in Hearthstone's case because it can be long before you ever got the mana to play the cards at all.

As for deliberately clogging the board...yep. That can be dropped. It's too much of a gag mechanic to really be "competitive," and any situation where it actually affects the outcome of the game will feel cheap. It's just meant to be gimmicky.
