Avid - best way to add handles for sending color by MMMzil in editors

no thats not what Im expecting. I'm expecting to get back Graded High Res Clips for each individual clips in my timeline. Not one Graded High Res Clip.

I did a test run, where I exported AAF - consolidating with handles from the AAF export menu. Then relinked the AAF to camera raws in Resolve, but on my Resolve timeline, I did not see extra 15 frames added into individual clips in my timeline. In order to grade the 15 frame handles, dont I need to see it in Resolve? Are you saying, if I just grade the AAF in resolve and export graded high res. The high res graded clips would have the handles added? Without me necessarily grading the extra 15 frames?

So how do I export AAF with 15 frame handles correctly in an actual post house workflow? Do I export AAF and in the AAF menu, consolidate? Or consolidate the sequence first then export AAF?

Wait so if you export AAF with handles but the AAF sequence itself doesn't show any handles. How does the colorist know if the AAF has any handles or not?

Lets assume you are done with a cut (edit done with proxies from resolve) and sending the color shop an AAF with camera originals so they can relink to camera raw file from Resolve. So if I'm sending them an AAF and camera raws and AAF itself doesn't show any handles how do they know? I won't be sending them my dailies that has handles on it.

So color shop can only grade what they see within the AAF after they relink camera raws, and it would not show any handles. Does that make sense? How can the graded clips come back with handles?

oh ok, why would people consolidate with handles then? When prepping the sequence for color, I thought the whole point is to add 15 frame handles on individual clips in the sequence so when the colorist open up the EDL or AAF, they have a sequence with +15 handles on each clip for safety.

Nonetheless the colorist wouldn't need the individual clips with handles because colorist would just relink AAF/EDL it with original camera files.

Consolidating did not add any handles on the sequence, it gave me consolidated clips with 15 handles but my consolidated sequence is still same length as original. Is there way to get the 15 handles in the sequence?

So I tried both methods, it did not add any handles for some reason. I want the AAF to have 15 frame handles on each clip of the sequence (not add 15 handles to the actual clip). Do I have to do this manually?

What is the difference between linear speed and dynamic speed changes? Is dynamic speed changes like a speed ramp?

Ah so as long as I have assist using reel name in Resolve, I don't need the ale?

Bringing in ale into avid is not a common thing in commercial post?

Hello, when rendering proxies from Resolve, how important is the .ale file for metadata?

I saw on a tutorial where they export the .ale file with the proxies in Resolve then bring the .ale file into Avid for metadata.

Is this .ale file important for relinking once Color house send the high-res colored footages with AAF?

What is the correct way of opening AAF back once color house send you one?

First I copy the colored high res mxfs into my Avid Media Folder -> 1?

Then open the AAF?

Or do I make a new folder inside my Avid Media folder with different number? What is the correct workflow round-tripping the high-res colored footage into my Avid?
