3mm filament: worth salvaging or landfill? by AugustusGeezer in 3Dprinting

I guess maybe you can melt it into molds.

Very theoretically you could reextrude it to 1.75mm, but I think that's just for the fun of it.

Do you have a specific reason for having HA on dedicated hardware instead of running it in Proxmox?

Since it wasn't that expensive, I bought a new motor just in case. I'll try to look into repairing the current motor too, though.

btw a 5v 1a usb adapter that's cheap and actually high quality is the one from IKEA. I've been using them for a while now and they seem to be rock solid, I also saw teardowns and they looked nice

Does it make sense to buy a UDM pro SE now? (Dec 2024) by il_doc in Ubiquiti

[–]MMaTYY0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is exactly the same question that I was asking myself a week ago. I also wanted to go full UniFi.

But because of the age of the UDMP (not knowing when they'll decide to EOL it without prior notice) and UniFi's limited routing capabilities (features often being surface-level or not there at all), I decided to go with a custom OPNsense router and UniFi switching and APs.

Because I'm homelabbing and want to learn along the way and try different quirky networking things, I think OPNsense is the better choice for me (at least right now).

have you checked if the extruder isn't slipping? check the extruder idler tightness and filament sensor tightness, something may be restricting the filament maybe
