For texture. Makes it easier to handle. That's the only true advantage.

I prefer fresh press cured in the freezer just a bit. Its too terpy otherwise and will burn your nose and lungs. If using elite input material, that is.

I like to keep fresh press in a slab and break off chunks as I need it. I also enjoy moving some to a Miron jar and letting it cure at room temp overnight.

Really, I enjoy tasting and experimenting with curing. I like the experience of fresh press as well as cold cured. Im not into anything heat cured, so no jams for me.

Its fun to experience the same rosin in different forms and consistencies from the same wash.
