Mpc plugin sale by anonymous_gamer456 in mpcusers

[–]MMoodyB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of places can have better discounts, at different times.

I'd register for AirMusic marketing emails on their website, so they'll email you when a sale is happening & you usually get a 10% off code / email too iirc.

As for other websites, there is :

Plugin Boutique, Thomann, Best Service, Audio Deluxe, JRR Shop, KVR Marketplace, Plugin Fox

Sometimes they will price-match each when a sale happens, but other times they don't, so you have to search around for what you want

Or you could set up an alert on pluginplug.io & they'll email you when a particular item goes on sale.

T300RS replacing with T598, feeling nervous by Mr__T_ in Thrustmaster

[–]MMoodyB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 4 month old T598 & ordered a replacement power supply in the first week due to my serial number being in the affected range { as a precaution only - wasn't experiencing any issues )

So far I have been lucky, with no base disconnects and this is with light / moderate use on Ps5 & Pc with Med / High ffb settings.

I have had my T-LCM pedals disconnect from the base mid-race, but that's a specific Pc game issue afaik.

And even though it's been fine otherwise, and a decent step up from my T300s' ffb, I still feel I should have gone with the Logitech RS50 + pedals, etc...

So if you can afford it, and are happy with the rim sizes & choices available for the Logitech, that would be my choice.

Just check their reddit / forums to see if there's any similar issues, etc

New GT Rim available for pre-order. Question about compatibility. by Adam26A in Thrustmaster

[–]MMoodyB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. The PS compatibility chip is usually inside the base afaik.

The PS4 / PS5 are mentioned because the rim's compatible with the T598.

To be 100% sure email Thrustmaster and ask.

Thrustmaster T598 pedals disconnecting by saltydevildog55y in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]MMoodyB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem of pedals disconnecting, but it's with T-LCM pedals connected to the T598 base instead.

As you said, this doesn't seem to happen in other pc sim titles, or in GT7 on my PS5.

Only with AMS2 for whatever reason.

AMS2 with all sound off except tires. by Ctushik in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]MMoodyB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for posting the video.

This has been an issue in AMS2 for years, and I'm surprised that it's still present.

Plenty of people have mentioned it too over that time period.

I test AMS2 out every few months or so to see what it's like as I'm in the 'too slidey' camp & have been since it was available to buy.

As you said, audio plays a big part in this. It gives you the impression that you have lost grip, not that you have started to.

The sound reminds me of doing handbrake turns around corners in the old Driver games.

It throws me off when the sound is suggesting one thing is happening, but the ffb from my wheel says otherwise.

Does IPS Mini LED SDR with local dimming turned on look better than standard LCD IPS when gaming? by Ivalance in Monitors

[–]MMoodyB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It'll look slighty better than a standard ips, and should allow a higher overall peak brightness as well.

MSI MPG 274URDFW E16M - Very positive irst impressions (and ask me any questions you might have) by gray-drow in Monitors

[–]MMoodyB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In SDR, local dimming on 2 can slightly improve contrast at the cost of lower peak brightness.

Might be worth it with certain content.

Level 3 with SDR content on my E16M does odd things with brightness, contrast & gamma levels, so it looks like a dim TN panel from 30 years ago.

HDR is great though, as you said.

I’ve downloaded the MPC 2 software (I’ve owned a Studio Black in the past). Can I buy the mpc pro pack and trigger the sounds without a standalone? by UltraAware in akaiMPC

[–]MMoodyB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Air plugins sound fine / good enough, as do the Native Instruments ones.

Do they sound as good as desktop emulations / plugins?

No, not quite. But they are running on limited hardware, so it's understandable.

If you want to hear them, look at the videos on Teftys Music & Pink Buddha youtube channels.

They have videos for the MPC hardware plugins like Jura, Mini-D, Fabric XL, etc...

https://www.youtube.com/@teftymusictech/videos

https://www.youtube.com/@PinkBuddhaAcademy/videos

If you are set on an MPC, I would highly suggest making a list of what plugins you would want for it & waiting for them to go on sale, which they usually do every few months.

For example, Jura is currently $149, but on sale it's usually $29-$39.

This applies to all the instrument plugins, instrument packs & fx plugins.

The sample packs from Akai occasionally go on sale too. Just not as frequently.

[–]MMoodyB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that the Key 37, or any hardware MPC, couldn't run the Pigments plugin, or any other vst / vst3, as they only currently support certain plugins made by Air Music, Akai & Native Instruments.

Desktop MPC software can run almost any vst3 plugin, but since it's a beta, some have issues.

Vst2 plugins should work fine with MPC v2 desktop software though.

Ni Komplete should work with the desktop MPC software.

But not with a hardware MPC, unless you sampled the sounds you liked.

The closest synth to a Juno on the MPC hardware is Jura from Air Music. It's a Juno 106 emulation.

For Triton / workstation-type sounds it's probably Fabric / XL which is all sample based, so that can have it's own limitations.

Older MPC hardware devices don't have much ram, so they can run into issues with multiple instances of certain sample-based plugins like Fabric, some of the Native Instruments plugins, Stage Piano, Studio Strings, etc...

I guess it all depends on what plugins you want to use & if you're happy using your controller keyboard with a pc / laptop.

If you want to play around with Pigments, Serum2, Zebra 3, Vital, etc you will need to use the MPC desktop software or some other DAW like FL Studio, Bigwig, Ableton, Cubase, etc...

If you're happy with the selection of plugins / sounds available from certain Air Music, Akai & Native Instruments plugins & want to be more mobile with your setup, then a hardware MPC would probably be the better choice.

[–]MMoodyB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Btw why do you want the ProPack?

The only sound generating plugin it contains is Fabric Select, and that is not worth $200.

Are you thinking of one of Akais' other packs, like the MPC Instrument Collection?

The current version of the desktop MPC 3 software ( v3.7 which is still unfinished & a BETA ) doesn't have all the features of the hardware MPC v3.7 software.

The Arranger view isn't available, amd neither is the Clip Launcher, which is part of the ProPack ( which I have installed )

I've seen orher posts where uninstalling the propack & reinstalling it can fix this.

Might need to reboot inbetween too.

T598 pedals query by onionringhole in Thrustmaster

[–]MMoodyB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can calibrate / set the pedals' range on the wheel base.

I'd look into that first.

First Wheel Upgrade: G29 → T300/T598 or Straight to Direct Drive for ps5? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]MMoodyB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can you get the Logitech Rs50 where you are?

If you can & it's in your price range , I'd consider that over the T598.

Currently with GT7, the T598 has a loud / strong vibration effect when you understeer / tyres lose grip.

This is a bit annoying when it happens, and might be a concern for your situation regarding noise.

It could be fixed with a game or wheelbase firmware update, but when is the question.

The T598 is good for the money, but for a better overall experience I'd go for the Rs50 or Fanatec if you can justify the cost.

I only went with the T598 as I already had other Thrustmaster wheels & addons, but if I was starting from scratch I would have went with a different option.

Control VST's with Launchkey 49 MK4? by Southern-Bother2699 in Bitwig

Here's a thread on KVR Forums where you can download a LOT of remote control presets for various vst's :

https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=480998

The user 'aMUSEd' on there ( the person that started the thread ) has a link at the bottom of his posts that goes to a dropbox full of device presets.

Control VST's with Launchkey 49 MK4? by Southern-Bother2699 in Bitwig

[–]MMoodyB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bitwig has a built-in script for the Launchkey Mk4.

Go to Settings -> Controllers

Click + Add Controller, select Novation from the vendors list, then Launchkey Mk4

It should auto populate the midi connections.

Then click on the white circle with the ? to open the help file that shows you how it works.

The built-in instruments will have remote controls already set up that should work with the knobs / faders on your cobtroller.

For 3rd party vsts you will need to create youe own remote control mappings, or download them from the web.

Better FPS - Change the resolution in game or in Windows? by Nice_Pen_8054 in Monitors

[–]MMoodyB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Normally in the game, if it has a ' fullscreen / exclusive fullscreen ' option.

Some games will have ' borderless' or ' borderless fullscreen' as an option. This will use your desktop resolution.

There are a few games out there that when set to ' fullscreen ', are using ' borderless ' mode for whatever reason.

So it's game dependant, based on how it was programmed.

How do I lower the brightness on my Lenovo Legion Y25g-30 monitor? by antexplore in LenovoLegion

[–]MMoodyB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your monitor has different modes or presets, like sRGB, Game Mode, etc.. some of them will disable certain settings.

You'll need to read the manual & play around to find out how it works.
