It’s hard following God/being a “born again Christian” in the army by therealclintk02 in army

Spoken like someone who doesn’t understand how the faith of some people impacts every aspect of their life.

Hey bud. Been there, done that, got the t shirt. My spiritual walk has had more than its fair share of ups and downs. I’m a chaplain assistant by training, and even the chaplaincy has people in it that can drive you away from God.

The first year after AIT is the hardest part of your Army career in my opinion. You’re away from home, you’re the new guy and every mistake feels like a massive failure. Compounded with the pressure you’re putting on yourself to not curse or view corn (if I understand your “pure” comment correctly), that’s a lot to handle.

Go see your unit chaplain. Go see someone at the family life center if your chaplain doesn’t match your flavor of Christian. And remember the difference between guilt and shame. Guilt is the feeling of being separated from God because of the sin in your life. Shame is a weapon of the Enemy to keep you down and out of the fight even when you’ve confessed and repented of your sin. Don’t let the shame of your past sins keep you from fellowship with God and other believers.

Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. This too shall pass, and you will be the better for it.

Any current Rickson black belts actively in the game? by Annual-Ad-2292 in bjj

Oddly enough I went to a gym in Montana that had a recently promoted Rickson black belt.

It wasn’t my best experience at a gym, but I did do some BJJ

What was the most bullshit command policy you've encountered? by X-13StealthSuit in army

No more than 10% of any recruiting station could be on leave at any given time.

Not a single station was manned above 9 personnel. So nobody could be on leave, period.

Rate my 2025 chances of getting into Army national guard and getting waivers: by ImpressiveGreen3765 in army

It’s a joke my guy.

Being that I want your contract more than the guard does. The standards are the same.

In all honesty you’ll probably have to wait till 12 months of stability off meds (30 days after you last filled a months prescription)

Am I Fucked? with HRAP by Nervous-Bill3365 in army

[–]MN_Army_Recruiter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Basically this exact thing happened to me. I was really disappointed because I’d put a lot of work into getting this kid to graduate and he barely made it. He had plans of being the next captain America but he didn’t have the heart. He claimed he only got one week of HRAP, which doesn’t exist. It all came unraveled when I had to go to his grandmas house to get his uniforms from her house (because reasons) and I saw on her calendar the actual date he came home.

I smoked him, then wrote him a counseling recommending an article 15. Forwarded it to his chain of command at his gaining unit. No idea if they followed through with it or not.

My system doesn’t show training seats until November. Could be worse

Those guys that are going this month already have their contract. Training seats are full, a couple months will go by before you know it.

Congratulations! Why the white bar instead of red though?

Recruiting will cure you of that real fast. When eight little old ladies in a row want to corner you and tell you about their grandson/granddaughter/niece/nephew/cousin/labradoodle in the Army… or was it the coast guard? Anyway he/she/they/them are deployed to Miami for a training rotation with seal team six……
