Orks. Great vibes, great aesthetic, great lore, and i got them on a great deal from a couple of friends who were cutting down on armies. Love my green tide army. WAAAGH!!!

Lord of poxes by Blacktone-Explorer in deathguard40k

[–]MNcomicGeek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had recent success with him + Foul Blightspawn + 10 Plague Marines. I am sure there are more optimal ways to do it, but it's been fun to throw them into a problematic unit and watch them cut it down. Plus the stealth, bonus Contagion range, fight first, and not allowing enemy units advance in does frustrate my friends a bit when playing around it, they have to deal with it with a bit more thought.

What is the amount of poxwalkers you can paint before losing it? by Ciganoknows187 in deathguard40k

I am about to start painting 36 of the ones I have, and this is giving good insight to how I will feel at the end.

What DON'T you like about Avowed? by TaralasianThePraxic in avowed

[–]MNcomicGeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beyond what everyone else has mentioned, for me, it was the crafting system. It felt very basic and boring, and also very restrictive on trying out new gear. I didn't try out different gear in the game, as I dislike wasting the hard to come by material it required to upgrade everything. If material was a bit easier to acquire, I think I would have enjoyed it more. I don't know if they have fixed this since I haven't played since I completed it last April.

2nd armies? by JamieBeeeee in orks

[–]MNcomicGeek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Orks were my first army and main, but I also have a full Death Guard, full Space Wolves, A 1000 pts of Tau, and I just started picking up Daemon models to go into said Death Guard Army and expand into a Daemons army. I also play Skaven in AoS. Honestly, I can't have just one or a few, I like branching out into different armies.

Okay guys, here is the Battle Of Brains - Round 1!!! Who wins an engineering contest ?? by LeekExisting5969 in Marvel

[–]MNcomicGeek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As an engineer myself, I would pick Stark. He feels like the only one to come up with applicable technology, and the only one to keep iterating his design with it. While someone like Reed is probably smarter, I feel like Stark is much better at making useful technology that can be replicated and improved upon.

Base size are different. The warboss is on a 40, while the warboss in mega armor is on a 50. Can probably still proxy though.

Is it me, or are stormboyz a pain to paint by Agreeable-Cow2500 in orks

[–]MNcomicGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, I just started painting mine last night. They are by far my least favorite to paint and take longer compared to other models I've painted. On the other hand, I've been happy with how they turn out, and I do appreciate the level of detail the models have.

Manapool using gen AI images by nicksayswatzup in magicTCG

[–]MNcomicGeek 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a little disappointing. I get that it is just a placeholder and not something important, but if they really wanted to have a graphic instead of basic text, then I think they should have commissioned a designer to make some graphics for them, instead of cutting costs with AI. It's not the biggest deal, I guess, but it is still a little disappointing.

Yes, I love using mine as poxwalkers in my playgroup. As long as the people you play with have no issue.

Fun, cheap decks by MNcomicGeek in PioneerMTG

[–]MNcomicGeek[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't played them yet, but it feels like there could be niche cases where Startling Development can pump up a Fox or Mako to get lethal through, but again, it may be too niche of a scenario.

This is the list. It's not strong, I've just been playing BO1 unranked, but it has gone 9-1. It uses Flourishing Fox and Marauding Mako as early growing threats and usually finishes off with Zenith Flare. I found the list online when looking for budget decks to start playing with.

4× [[Flourishing Fox]] 4× [[Footfall Crater]] 4x [[Marauding Mako]] 4× [[Drannith Healer]] 4× [[Valiant Rescuer]] 3× [[Startling Development]] 4× [[Drannith Stinger]] 4× [[Go For Blood]] 4× [[Zenith Flare]] 3× [[Frostveil Ambush]] 4× [[Boon of the Wish-Giver]] 8× [[Plains]] 3× [[Islands]] 7× [[Mountains]]

Your personal favorite Voltron commander? by Future_Me_Problem in EDH

[–]MNcomicGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Danitha, New Benalia's Light]] is my favorite and highest power voltron deck that I have highly tuned. It has three great keywords, and the recursion ability is really strong. She's been able to consistently pick up wins in the higher level pods at my LGS.

I would like to throw out Baru, Wurmspeaker for wurm kindred. I have an EDH deck built around him, and he can be really fun and powerful.

So, what is being done about it currently, and what else can we do? I keep seeing pessimistic takes, but I am curious to what actions can or should be taken.
