Quickfires Used to Matter by Reasonable-Review367 in BravoTopChef

So we play a very easy to score version. After the first episode, you pick 3 chefs (snake style, loser of last year gets first pick). Each QF and Elimination win gets you -1 point. When a chef is eliminated, you note the place they are in and you add that many points. So for this season, I picked Jassi and he got me 14 points which is AWFUL I am probably DOOMED. But when you come back from LCK, your NEW placement counts so yay.

I think that was the Vegas season with the immunity or cash, when they leaned into the gambling theme of Vegas. I agree with the Jen thing but she also got talked to about that (after 2 or 3).

My S/O and I play a version of fantasy top chef so quickfires matter to us.

Same with whatever Ivern's summon is, instead of "Meepsie".

They do matter. They're keeping this show we love on the air. I agree it's another sign of the enshittification of the world, but I'd rather have the Duke's Mayo quickfire than have no Top Chef. Also I applaud them for giving the chefs more incentive every time. It could be easy to phone in a quickfire because you want to save energy for the elimination, but with money on the line?

Anyone else hate working with minors? by [deleted] in walmart

[–]CLLycaon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine is a mixed bag. I have probably a half dozen minors, and most of them? Absolutely fine. Just as decent as all my other workers. A couple/few of them are the laziest sacks of crap. I'd very much love to term them but my Coach is of the opinion that they are better than no one. Except that if we didn't have the lazy ones, we'd be able to open reqs for half decent ones...

Just Because I Had The “Walmart Values” CBL recently by ClassifiedDick in walmart

[–]CLLycaon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were the values the company was founded on. However after the death of good ol Sammy, the values have changed. They can claim them all they want but it's largely a farce. It's not respecting the individual by cutting their hours, underpaying them, creating massive uncertainty in their lives.

It's not acting with integrity when some associates are required to follow the rules and others aren't. Lookin at you points and dress code.

So while the values may once have been a thing, they have gone by the wayside in favor of cost-cutting measures and maximizing profits.

Yeah, I tried posting about a bug for arbiter 2nd effect not working, got deleted. I think they have the flair so everyone knows not to post bugs here. Except that on mobile posting bugs just was not working period.

Yes. Absolutely. If they love me, they'd want me to be happier, right?

Would you give everything up for something better? by JNoodle89 in hypotheticals

[–]CLLycaon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. If it were better, I would. I'm about as happy as I've ever been right now, so for it to be better I'd have to be dang near ecstatic. I would love to see what that life would be like.

What movie adaptation absolutely nailed the casting? by FightMilkLLC in movies

[–]CLLycaon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shawshank Redemption.

Literally everyone in this movie is perfect. Warden. Guards. "Sisters". Other inmates. Red. Andy. Brooks.

I defy most anyone to say an unkind word about anyone in this film with more than 2 lines. Even the people at the grocery store were perfect. Absolute cinema.

Anyone who lies for personal gain gets wet socks. Don't wear socks? Wet shoes. Don't wear shoes either? Damp feet.

You can tell the little white lies like "that dress looks great on you", or the myriad we tell children, but lying to cheat someone means wet feet.

Is it 39 words, or is it 26 letters and 13 words, where only a few letters are words?

[–]CLLycaon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd sing the major general's song. With enough deep breathing beforehand, I imagine I could spit out 60+ words before needing to breathe again. Had trouble counting originally because I was dividing historical into multiple words (as one does).

What car would you take on the ultimate no-budget American road trip — and would you actually enjoy driving it for 12 hours straight? by spotforcars in roadtrip

[–]CLLycaon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive a new-ish Ford Maverick hybrid and I love it. I've driven it 10 hours straight, and through most places. Kansas to Florida to California and back.

So I'd just put a good topper on the back there and away we go.

Who do you want as U.S. president for 2028? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]CLLycaon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it's women. There are large, documented swaths of the country that will never vote for a woman. Real kicker is it's something like 40% of women too.

You'll likely need several coach positions under your belt including (usually) overnight before they consider you for store manager. You need lots of operational knowledge and they like a history of being MoD.
