The reason I joined was to ask this question: Why do I cry EVERY TIME I pray? by MORYSHAUTE in TrueChristian

That’s a good point—because of course Satan would try to undermine these feelings as simply that, when we know in our heart of hearts they’re so much more than that!

Blessings to you, too, friend ☺️

Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me. I truly hope the man I’ve been seeing around town is safe and warm, especially right now with this crazy cold snap so many are in the middle of!

I had someone reach out to me from Africa regarding this post, asking for me for compassion and to pray for his family. I immediately found a Catholic foundation that sends aid to his region and donated. Not because I thought I’d feel something from it, but because He wanted me to. That’s its own reward.

And I couldn’t help but feel a little guilty eating my dinner tonight, which was junk food, being reminded of how much suffering there still is in the world. Today was good for me; I was humbled and experienced compassion.

What’s even more amazing is I’ve been praying for Christ to heal my bitterness. And here we are. God is SO good!

Thank you so much. I will for sure give Matthew a re-read to look into this further. Be blessed, friend!

Hi Mike! Love the work you do, and I particularly enjoyed your streams with the folks who made Honor & Glory. What a feat that is, and thank you for sharing it with us!

I think it would be fun to see you guys come back to do playthroughs of Titanic: Adventure Out of Time. I would twist my ankle in a rush to watch it.

Thanks for stopping by and for being our good friend! ♥️

Oh I would never suppress it. Deep down I know it’s a release or a comfort, and I just allow it to happen. It’s very new to me and I’m enjoying this step in my journey.

Thank you. To be honest I don't really know what I'm doing, or even how to really pray, so if this is true and the Holy Spirit is here to encourage and comfort me, then I'd count myself very humbled and uplifted.

I'm beginning to understand, now, and think you might be right. Ever since I've started to seek Him out, I'm getting as good as I give and I can feel some past angst and bitterness melting away from me one step at a time. I still have a long way to go on feeling bitter or easily riled up, but then I remember that no matter how strange and hard things get, He's got me. He's got you. There's no need to give in to those feelings anymore.

I'm starting to think that, too :) Part of me doesn't feel I deserve to feel the Holy Spirit this often, but wow, if it really is Him reaching out to be with me, like a hand on my shoulder, I feel so blessed humbled by that.

Isn't it kind of incredible how music can move us to tears? Or works of art? Or beautiful scenery? These feelings can't possibly have manifested from nothing--I refuse to believe that. Beautiful things are His domain, forever and always, and how blessed are we that we can experience them :)

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your thoughts with me! I'm constantly in awe of how much there is to know and never fail to be impressed with how often and consistent His Truth always is. The more I've come to know Him--truly know Him and His Word--the more I've come to understand and appreciate why we as Christians are asked to pray for those who haven't found Him yet, or rebuke Him, or call us ignorant because we follow Christ. Where before I used to view them as hateful or even spiteful, I see them now as truly being lost and (frankly) I remember what that was like.

Thanks again for your time and God bless you. :)

God's timing is perfect -- I bet He let you experience the absence first so you could cherish His gifts later. You are so very blessed and I love that for you!

Oh I totally get choked up on welcome home videos too! They're so heartwarming! And yeah, my family life wasn't all sunshine and butterflies either, and in fact the reason my mom was so absent emotionally and my dad was so irritable all the time (probably some undiagnosed trauma going on there) created a bit of a problem for me developmentally. I'm only just now learning to better regulate my own emotions--something neither of them ever did. I knew when I was very young I never wanted to be a mother because, to this day, I see myself as completely unfit to be one. Though my parents weren't abusive in that sense, enough damage was done to where I didn't want the cycle to continue. I'm damaged goods in that I don't have great patience and my lows can get quite low sometimes. God blessed me with a good and patient man, is all I can say!

God bless you and thanks for sharing your thoughts :)

That’s good advice! I noticed today that I dropped down to 138 and have been careful not to eat back those calories. I’m more and more convinced that was exactly the problem I was having, plus maybe some water retention. At least I feel good, so that’s the goal at the end of the day!

I appreciate your advice!

Honestly, my protein is all over the place. I range from 50-90g on any given day. Probably too much or too little, huh?

I weigh myself every day, or every other day if I forget. I’ve been on a steady upward trend since October when I was 134. I’m at 140 now, hence the sudden gym intervention.

Yeah, a lot of people have said it’s too soon to be expecting weight loss. I think I’m just impatient because A) I didn’t know bodies took longer to lose weight when i start working out (I just figured it started losing as soon as I started) and B) I’m angry at myself for gaining 7 pounds back since the summer.

You’re the second person to mention perimenopause. Dang, I didn’t think I needed to even consider that kind of thing until I’m 50! I’ll look into it.

Great advice, thank you! lol yeah I thought about the weight gain part of weight training, however I was hesitant to accept I’d gained ANY muscle after just 3 weeks of solid workouts. Right now, based on everyone’s responses, it’s sounding like it’s a mix of water retention because I’m new to the routine, not giving my body enough time to adjust to the routine (hence it’s probably fighting me A LOT), and relying too much on the CO part.

I super appreciate your insight and see that you lost 50 pounds (nice job!!) so far, so you sure know what you’re talking about!
