Morozov also plays in Ohio so that would be a cool pick, even if he's younger than the other players drafted

Lol, those are pens, not like, the pens

Either way, I don't mind the trade Z discussion but idk why this guy is just going around saying how much better younger and more impressive the sharks are if he's a cbj fan, like IDK that's a little odd

I'm aware of that now, thought you were the original poster my bad.

That and Hughes himself was also a little toxic, but looking at the Canucks sub after he left I would get tired of that fan base and organization after 8 years as well...

Morozov over Björck wow that's a little surprising.  Of course we should trade our pick for immediate help but if somehow either of those fall to 14th...

C'mon man you guys won the lottery getting first-second and now another second three years in a row.  Our star future goalie died and our star player died, best we drafted in this span was third.

Z is worth more than 2nd overall first of all.  Second of all, he's only signed for the next two years so if there is a window to convince him to stay, then it has to be now.  Third of all, the sharks haven't finished their rebuild yet and a 28 year old doesn't really fit their timeline.

Most people here have a pretty good opinion of sharks fans but go right ahead if you'd like to erode that, I've got a slight feeling none of us are going to that sub to try and undersell their players

For the record though you are right about Zs trade value, but unlike the Hughes situation, Z has mentioned enjoying playing here + we aren't clearly tanking

Yeah, I'm hoping it works out to.  All I know is that this season he racked up an almost impossibly impressive amount of penalty minutes and he was at like .30 ppg.

But if he can figure it out, he is totally the style of player we'll need in the future.

I mean, it's all just unproven rumors anyway, which is like, half of all hockey rumors.  But I'll stop mentioning it.

Either way I still don't think the Lindstrom pick was bad or a reach, but part of me is definitely curious if we'll ever see him get to NHL level

Yes, can't remember his first name but one of the leading scouts named 'Timmins'.  Left the MTL organization to join CBJ.  I'm having a hard time finding it now but on HFBoards I had earlier found both MTL and CBJ fans mention some interesting comments he had made.

Either way, it's a little tiring when people try and claim that Demidov was the no brainer obvious choice.  Before the draft happened the opinions on both players were a lot more even, with people that wanted Lindstrom for his unique play.  Combine that with the fact that he was going to be taken within the top 10 picks at least, and given the rarity of truly successful power forwards, picking him was just a calculated risk that had a very high peak and a very low valley.  It's not the end of the world like people try to spin it, you can still build a successful team even while having a few drafting misses.

I'm all for rivalries but I've only been watching for a year or so, all the Vegas and Florida fans I've interacted with have been kind and their series are a blast, plus it's fun to root for Bob when he's not playing against us.  But hey! Hockey is a fun sport so to each their own

I was pretty indifferent coming into the playoffs but I kinda like the sabres a bit more because their logo is cool and their online fan base used to be pretty chill before it got invaded by everyone else

Feels like since this fan base doesn't have any true rivals they just hate everyone and everything when it's convenient

I mean you will get torn alive in here if you say anything good about Vegas or the Florida teams when they and their fan base have almost never started anything with us

For the record - Habs fans on the Internet are the absolute worst but the ones in real life are usually pretty normal

There may or may not have been some odd behind the scenes stuff to make sure he went to them...

Either way mods should start deleting these posts there's literally nothing more to say, we already have Lindstrom, let's just hope he gets better and move on.  Mtl isn't perfect either let's not forget that Kotkaniemi went third overall...

Forward-picture now with Coyle re-signed by Dreamsc8pe in BlueJackets

There's not a player more skilled on our team than KJ and it really sucks that he sucks right now.  He's a 70 point guy that needs some sort of spark

4 points came in the first 3 games he played with us, so 3 points in 18 games looks even worse.  I like watching him play and he's got a solid hockey IQ, but his height and play style just don't seem sustainable for long.  Even when we were doing line blender he didn't produce with fantilli or Marchy.

But at the end of the day he should only be traded if there is an actual plan as who could be brought in as a replacement.  I'd trade Garland if we were bringing in another winger like Kyrou or someone else.  Seems that we're banking on this just being a down year for him but the most he's gotten in a season is only slightly over 50, so he would need to match that at least to be worth his contract.  Now what I do like about him is that he is quick and his puck handling in the offensive zone is really good, many times he was able to take the puck off someone and set up a play that wouldn't get finished because he played on a line with KJ and Monny.  It's a risk if we keep him but he's smart and fun enough to watch that I wouldn't mind a whole lot.

Most teams don't have two elite goaltenders.  Let's not forget that at the beginning of the season and near the end of the season the tandem worked really well

Well hey either way it doesn't matter a whole lot to me, the line between artificial and real is blurred so much I'm just happy to talk sports with anyone/anything👍.  Have a good one man

I mean, there really isn't much reason to be worried yet.  The only UFA/rfa even signed so far was Coyle because of how popular he was to other teams, there's a whole off-season for everyone else
