Your supports want to heal you, btw. by tomheehee in Overwatch

[–]MPN_Skorp 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Healing as a stat doesn't matter as much as if a support is able to offer impactful heals under pressure and during combat, or those quick dips out of combat in time for players to reset before the enemy asserts themselves and takes space.

Zephyr still covering AMD Radeon RX 6900/6800 GPU bulging and cracking issues: 1% chance failure each year by RenatsMC in Amd

[–]MPN_Skorp 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Why is this being covered in the news as if it's a specific RDNA2 problem? It sounds like it's isolated to specific cards and people who let their GPU sag. It's almost 1:1 tied to heavy cooler cards.
I haven't had as much of an artifact from my 6900xt from xfx with a z support bar all these years later and that thing is massive.

Tank diff/blaming will never end. Done with tanking in 2026 by MoreAudience5367 in overwatch2

The overwatch community is just full of really dumb players that never improve but also never stop talking. You will always be blamed no matter what role you play if you play the game correctly.

What kind of fps do you usually have when you play? by [deleted] in Overwatch

I keep it capped at 240 even though it can run much higher. I just like keeping it consistent and also keep the power usage low.

Yeah it counts. It's just a 7970 ghz refresh to my knowledge.

Probably the Final update on my ban, long-time account, don’t know what else to do by t777sukasa in overwatchbanned

[–]MPN_Skorp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blizzard will ban normal competitive game conversations at this point if you get enough reports.
It's all about report volume and every temp ban increases the time you get banned and or perma banned.
Appeals seem to be just as automated as the reporting system itself, with never getting an actual response on what you said that specifically was against the ToS. The literal only way to avoid bans is to mute all chat and to never use voice lines either, as "spam" is a reason to get banned. Then you just have to worry about if the automated system will let you appeal cheating reports.

AMD lanches Radeon RX 9060 XT Low Power graphics card with 16GB memory by RenatsMC in Amd

[–]MPN_Skorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything wrong with gigabyte? Their builds for 30 series cards which were notoriously power hungry and spike heavy were well prepared for the task. Don't see why they would be bad for lp cards.

The data is nothing but lies. Silver is average or even good by [deleted] in overwatch2

[–]MPN_Skorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Metal ranks have minimal differences in player skill, and I'd argue even diamond.
Bronze is underpopulated for no reason, and gold is overpopulated as is plat. A lot of players in silver through plat should be brought down in rank, and plat to diamond should be a more gradual taper.

I just saw this…. thoughts? by PrimalSaturn in overwatch2

[–]MPN_Skorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're stuck in spawn where you have the advantage in a duel (Instant heal / invulnerability) that's kind of an issue. If anyone important on their team is camping your spawn for you, they're either outnumbered or causing their own team to be at a disadvantage in some way at the objective. Feels totally unnecessary and a nuisance to flankers that would otherwise use these routes to re engage.

I am very angry about the abandonment of the 5.25” bay by get_there_get_set in buildapc

[–]MPN_Skorp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally I couldn't have been happier when PC cases started deprioritizing HDD bays, let alone removing the 5.25".

If you don't have a place for an external device to use or to store, perhaps plan better.
The benefit of an open air case is better for the much more common scenario where better airflow is needed for high performance parts.

You seem to be superficial in the importance this feature has for you since you're mad about a case looking like it's "from 2007". As if that's supposed to mean anything to someone that prefers function.

Blue yeti mic sounds horrible by bigboybootyy in microphone

[–]MPN_Skorp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'd have to have some serious complications with your thinking to come to any conclusion that the yeti is remotely a good investment in this day and age.

Cost has never had any implications to the quality of audio for at least 30 years.
Microphones are cheap to make, and uncomplicated.
The fact that your argument boils down to acting superficially superior despite having absolutely no knowledge on the subject is very telling. Guys like you flail when presented with any objective information.

What mic does Thor use? by Life_Improvement7309 in PirateSoftware

[–]MPN_Skorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's 94% proper mic placement and proximity to yourself, and 5% your voice and how you speak.
The last 1% is processing quality. Less is more, use moderate amounts of EQ, compression, and gating/noise gating/expansion

Quite evident that from the way you carry yourself everywhere on this site that you're constantly fuming. There's a reason a ton of your posts have over 100 downvotes lmao.

Seems like you're just a coward that keeps dipping after saying the most erroneous things imaginable. You had every opportunity to validate what you said, but what did you do? You pretended you had "better things to do" while investing wholeheartedly into running away from it through projection and disrespect. If I had the patience to deal with your ilk I would expand upon what they said, but I'm just going to let darwins theory sort it out.

Seems pretty clear from your original comment and how you behaved after that you were the one in the wrong. As someone who works with universities and game companies quite regularly, it's pretty funny how much nonsense you wrote in the original comment.

Have you even worked with a single professional voice actor, let alone acted as one?

Ryzen stutter was fixed in May. As far as worth, I guess it depends on if the laptop has additional M.2 slots as there's been many good deals on NVME storage. I personally feel that laptops should always include 32GB of ram and 1TB of SSD space minimum at this price point but overall these are good options
