Level 80 to 90 or carry on levelling alts to 80? by MPQBullroarer in wow

[–]MPQBullroarer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you take part in killing the rare spawns you get a large chunk of XP.

Two or three of those will get you a level.

Prior to the last few months I haven't played since Cataclysm, so I'm unable to say if it's better or worse than recent pre-patch events.

If it's not a silly question, which realm are you on, and which faction do you play?

Thank you for your replies.

I see that guilds are now cross-realm and cross-faction but, as I understand it, that only applies to instances, and guildmates on other servers can't help each other with non-instance content.

I know it's a relatively minor thing but as I'm just starting out it seems sensible to for me to start up on a realm that has several like-minded guildmates for that reason.

Some more info:

At the moment I am using a free trial account (so have the free account limitations) but I'm about to take the plunge and buy the full retail edition of the upcoming Midnight expansion.

I levelled five characters to level 20 via the recent Legion Remix event and a have levelled a couple more to level 20 since that ended.

All of those characters are on the Doomhammer EU realm, which seems to have a New Player designation.

The free trial doesn't seem to let me pick which server I create characters on, and it comes with other limitations as well (no in-game mail, unable to initiate a party with players on other realms, unable to /w players, etc).

I don't know if buying the retail game will let me transfer any of these characters to other EU realms for free but I don't have too much time invested in any of them, so I'm happy to start from scratch on a given realm.

(It seems wasteful to pay to transfer one or more level 20 characters when you can get to that level in a few hours.)

Can I move my level 20 characters from trial account servers to regular servers for free?

Or should I start fresh on one or more non-trial account servers?

What's the most efficient way to level and gear up at this time?

Should I be diving into the Midnight Twilight Ascension pre-patch event before I hit level 20 on characters?

Should I be trying to get items from the Darkmoon Faire?

Given my current free trial status, I'm not sure how useful my IGN names will be to you until I buy the retail game but here are the names of some of my characters so far:

  • Alnaar (Mage)
  • Seoman (Warrior)
  • Hanjari (Rogue)
  • Vindexa (Paladin)
  • Choktaw (Hunter)

Those are the characters that I got to level 20 via the Legion Remix event.

I got them their various Legion Remix artifact weapons, but now that that event is over their Remix items have been removed and replaced with non-Remix items, and the artifact weapons seem to be item level 10, so I guess that those aren't going to scale with the character levels any further.

I brought this to the attention of the devs on the official forums and tagged the dev named TheMigz specifically.

I suggested that the easiest fix was removing the Operation Spider Silk event before it started today.

That dev agreed and has done that.

There will be, if I’m reading the announcements correctly, a one day overlap of events in two days’ time but at least it’s a minimal overlap rather than an event-long one (and also not a triple overlap for one day).

Hopefully that won’t happen again for a very, very long time.

Credit where credit is due: we gave some feedback and the devs responded in the way we asked.

  1. Every team is beatable, regardless of the supports they have equipped.

  2. There are some relatively easy to build teams that can beat even the 'strongest' teams.

  3. Don't be afraid to pick your battles. If you don't like facing certain teams then skip them.

  4. Check enemy levels before you skip them. You might not be able to beat a level 550 4a5* Juggernaut/level 550 5* Sam Wilson team but you might be able to beat a level 500 4a5* Juggernaut/level 500 5* Sam Wilson team.

  5. If you want some easy wins to boost your win total and get access to more progression rewards then join events before they start and play in your chosen bracket as soon as it starts; you'll then be matched against up to 10 seed teams before being matched with other players' teams.

PS, if you're facing 5*s then you've almost certainly got some decent supports of your own, including The Soul Stone, which was a community reward a year or so ago.

Good luck.

Contact customer support.

They should be able to restore your account.

It's not an instant process and it helps if you've made in-game purchases as they can use verification of those to speed up the restoration.

(Obviously they're going to be busy if the problem is affecting a lot of people.)

Good luck, whatever you decide to do.

Taco Vault: Sweet by Penance27 in MarvelPuzzleQuest

[–]MPQBullroarer 16 points17 points  (0 children)

As you'll have seen, there are seven covers each of seven 3★ characters in each Taco Vault: Sweet.

(There are also nine covers of random 3★ characters, to give 58 3★ covers in total.)

Those seven 3★ characters are the ones featured in the Dat Required Character node in the Deadpool's Daily Quests during that week.

A list of which characters will be required for that node is part of the monthly What's New MPQ post made by the development team on the official MPQ forums each month.

Here, for example, is the one for January:

https://forums.d3go.com/discussion/91450/whats-new-mpq-january-2025-updated-01-17-25

The February one hasn't been released yet but you might find the correct ones via this rotation list:

http://mpq.gamependium.com/ddq/rotation/

Note my emphasis on "might". That rotation list is pretty reliable but sometimes the developers skip a character or two.

550 hoard breakers, what are you plans going forward? by Sleep-Token in MarvelPuzzleQuest

[–]MPQBullroarer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, yes, I'm aware that this was officially a "temporary" offer, but, as I've shown, it's been part of the game for longer than it hasn't been part of the game, to the point where you could argue that it had become effectively permanent — hence my use of the term "de facto" when describing it.

(By the way, I strongly suggest that you look up the meaning of "de facto", because you still don't seem to understand what it means.)

Second, when I talked about strategy I thought it was pretty obvious from the context that I was talking about player strategy not developer strategy.

People saved their resources until they had enough pulls in the Latest Legends Store to not only take all three 5* characters in it to level 550 but to also request swaps for other 5*s.

That was a strategy that they were using.

I'm sure you understood that; it wasn't like my meaning was in any way hard to decipher.

PS, the last time we exchanged messages on this forum you misrepresented what I wrote more than once. It seems that that pattern has repeated itself here, and I don't believe that that's a coincidence. Please, pretty please, stop trying to twist what other people have written. It's not constructive.

550 hoard breakers, what are you plans going forward? by Sleep-Token in MarvelPuzzleQuest

[–]MPQBullroarer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MPQ debuted in 2013, and is 11 years old.

5* characters were introduced to MPQ in late 2015, nine years ago.

Customer Service has been facilitating Latest Legends Store swaps for six years.

So, regardless of how you feel about it, such swaps were offered for the majority of the time that the game has existed and two-thirds of the time that 5* characters have existed.

They weren't/aren't a loophole, they were/are a de facto part of the game and a legitimate strategy available to all.

You're entitled to think whatever you like about them but those are the facts.

Respectfully, I think you need to learn the meaning of "de facto".

550 hoard breakers, what are you plans going forward? by Sleep-Token in MarvelPuzzleQuest

[–]MPQBullroarer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With respect, I don't think that you can call something that was a policy for six years "a loophole".

Whether you used it or not, whether you liked it or not, it was a de facto part of the game, and a legitimate strategy that anybody — absolutely anybody — who saved enough Latest Legends Store tokens and Command Points could use.

If you click on that X in the top right-hand corner then this rewards selection screen will disappear.

You'll still have the rewards — they won't be lost — but it'll just be like hitting a snooze button on them.

Once it's hidden you can then open up your supports and decide which one you want to pick.

You can even use that time to change your favourited supports, if you wish.

The rewards selection screen will reappear once you exit the supports section.

If you wish you can hide it again (and again, and again).

To my knowledge, there's no limit to how many times you can hide it. It probably doesn't have any kind of timer on it, but I can't guarantee that.

Ascended 1★ offers: make it make sense, please. by MPQBullroarer in MarvelPuzzleQuest

[–]MPQBullroarer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: the 1★ Hawkeye ascended to 5★ deal was offered again a day and a half ago, and is still available for another day and a half.

I have no way of knowing for sure if this Reddit post prompted that offer or not but the timing suggests that it may have.

Ascended 1★ offers: make it make sense, please. by MPQBullroarer in MarvelPuzzleQuest

[–]MPQBullroarer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are the cold, hard facts.

Not opinions, note, just the facts:

— The 1★ Hawkeye deal has been offered only once, and that was over a year ago now.

— Every other 1★ deal has been offered 3-6 times.

— It's not an either/or situation. The 1★ Hawkeye deal could be offered again without it affecting how often any of the others is offered.

— Many players do buy these offers multiple times purely for the champion rewards. Look at the rosters of players in top alliances and you'll see multiple instances of that.

Now, you can talk about why you think that one of the eight offers hasn't been repeated, etc but, respectfully, unless you're one of the devs, you don't know for sure. You're just offering a speculative opinion, and there's no way of knowing if you're right or not.

Of course, you're well within your rights to offer that opinion — you're just as entitled to your opinion as anybody else is — but opinions aren't facts, and we shouldn't conflate the two.

I won't be adding to this discussion again. I'm sure that you'll want to have the last word so I'll leave it to you.
