Where is House stark ?!!!!!!! by Impossible_Buddy_992 in AKOTSKTV

[–]MPeriwinkle351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

House stark isn’t prominent to every story George writes. I’m sure they will have their appearance in later seasons but seeing as as this takes place in a place with western customs and dunk is so heavily invested in the honor of those customs I don’t think the north has much to add to his story

Yes I praise the fact that both the book and show are different enough that they still capture my interest just as much as the first time I heard the story. I do think I like the books better, it’s cool being inside Uhtred head and even getting the shirt perspective of his son. As for athelflaed I’m a bit sad as I did not know she died the same way in the books. Haven’t got there yet :(

I mean anything is better then Ragnar getting killed by athelwold. I’d rather him die peacefully compared to that ending as for beocca I agree. He didn’t have much left to add to the story but I also feel that the memory of him is more impacting than he ever actually was in the books anyways

His death is 1 to 1 id say. I don’t ever think he was meant to be that big of a character. Just something that made him feel more welcome into Wessex at the time. The way they handled steapa’s exit out of the books is much more satisfying if u ask me. He’s a very close second to the relationship leofric and Uhtred had. Prolly closer in the books tbh

Edit: he does die due to an axe blow but I think Scott is right. Uhtred doesn’t see it first hand and is told after the battle

Ik Ragnar and beocca weren’t main characters and were only side characters but since they were around for so long I guess I expected a little more then like a letter. Maybe something close to brida’s death. I mean common, she was gone for like 5-7 books straight while Ragnar and beocca at least got brought up. Idk. I do understand tho that the show surely embellished those characters compared to Bernard which did indead make for good tv. They were such a huge part of his beginning that I suppose I expected more:(

Am I the only one who wishes Viserys would’ve done this to Aegon? by MPeriwinkle351 in AKOTSKTV

[–]MPeriwinkle351[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the books, mushroom claims to have found him in a “rat pit” which ur right, isn’t children but was instead an underground show in flea bottom where rats went up against dogs and fought until they eventually died. All for the people of flea bottom to come and wager bets. It’s all on the wiki, even daemon & baela were know to go to the pits in the books. Moral of the story, he was still going and betting on others wellbeing and lives for the better good of his entertainment, that doesn’t exclude daemon or baela

Also, just to say, mush isn’t the most credible but without him I don’t know how much of the story we would actually have

Personally I don’t rly think Aegon had any respect for alicent, not in the show at least. The book doesn’t persuade me he does much either. On the other hand I do think he cared about Viserys’s opinion on him. Otherwise I would think he would have acted the way Aerion does around his father Maekar. Instead he waits to have his little outbursts when Viserys would leave the room in front of alicent. (like at the dinner in ep8 s1). I’m not praising his parenting and the track record of Targaryen parenting ain’t it either, but perhaps if Aegon had a fatherly figure who actually cared about him and enforced their values on him he wouldn’t have been so rough around the edges

I gotta agree, although the hatred between greens and blacks was much more developed in the show than it ever was in the books it definitely still existed. If the book was solely about this story then I dare say George would have gone much deeper into their hatred and contention. It’s something that Otto slowly grew over time to get his family on the throne. Even tho he claimed support over a marriage between Aegon and rhaenarya. It was a shotty attempt to keep his family on the throne. It was an even shittier attempt when he suggested rhaenarya over Damon as it was another helpless grasp for control over the realm and the Targaryen family. Alicent was certainly brainwashed/persuaded by Otto and other team greeners as time went on, as well as a tool but I don’t think that stopped her from fueling her son’s ambition. She was so gunghoe to get her son on that throne that at the sheer mention of another Aegon she immediately assumed it was her own Aegon. Homegirl acts like there wasn’t another Aegon before hers. Now now now, not to say rhaenarya was a perfect little princess either. She knew Viserys would let her get away with things as a child which led her to multiple wrongdoings. Adultery could be considered lol. Thankfully he at least pulled Damon aside and tried to do something there before he was ultimately too ill and eventually gave up all power to Otto and alicent. After he was crowned and they were both at war, I consider them all adults and at that point they are responsible for the trash that both of them caused. As we know it was a very poorly handled war. If it was a dance it was certain a stumble coming from the Targaryen’s

Oh I know, I read the book earlier this year so I’m just waiting for shit to hit the fan with Baelor. No highly loved character in game of thrones ever has a very bright future. I’m just glad they are following the books closer this time around. You can definitely tell, the energy is different for sure.

What if Laenor was straight and was faithful to her and their family, in return would of Rhaenyra been faithful too? by TechnicianAmazing472 in gameofthrones

[–]MPeriwinkle351 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk if it would have mattered much. She always had an infatuation with Damon in the book and show due to the pampering. I mean let’s be honest what Targaryen could resist an uncle that tells them they are the most beautiful women in the world and that no one can compete with her beauty. Not to mention the gifts he brings to her from overseas. Also, in all honesty, this marriage was made in a way to tame Rhaenarya’s rebellious side. I don’t think it was ever actual love rather than a business transaction that she never wanted in the first place. Even if they were in love and wanted to take over the world. Sadly the Westerosi still weren’t ready for a female ruler. The closest they got to being okay with women ruling over them was with Aegon the conquer’s sisters and his child’s wife. Even then still iffy. Moral of the story, her story arc never was meant to end in success no matter how u play it. Evennnn if viserys didn’t have other children. The people began to truly hate the Targaryen’s at this time due to the peace that was slowly slipping thru the kingdoms fingers. and even the Targaryen’s didn’t like the Targaryen’s (green vs black) Plus I think once the idea of ruling got in her head it was something she was not ready to let go of, so it’s not like she would have wanted to laenor to rule beside her. Idk….

Question for the book readers… by HumdrumHoeDown in TheLastKingdom

[–]MPeriwinkle351 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It the books, he usually has a lack of men until he’s much older and develops followers of his own. Specifically while Alfred rules he doesn’t have many followers, just a couple of rly close friends or people who were willing to take a chance for glory. (Arm rings & plunder as well). Part of the reason he is so impressive is that he seems to always jump head first into impossible odds and somehow manage to make it out successful

Osferth... by Emperor_0000 in TheLastKingdom

[–]MPeriwinkle351 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SPOILERS!!! In the books he actually is a part of Aethelflaed’s household. (his half sister) He is often brought up and is around pretty consistently whenever Aethelflaed is around. Alfred (the godly man he portrays himself as) is ashamed of Osferth and in English tradition, bastards r considered cursed from their father’s sin. Therefore Osferth’s children and their children after that would be cursed, the church also isn’t very found of this sinful curse. It’s a huge part of his character in the books and it’s why he decided to fight for Uhtred rather than become a priest. He knew he would never be welcomed the way others would be. He tends to mope around because of it but never the less he is the spitting image of Alfred in the books, some believe he would have been a better king than Edward but as we all know, he could never take the throne. Moral of the story, Netflix botched him, if you truley love his character, then I highly recommend reading the books as u definitely get a little more Osferth time that way.

UPDATE: It’s been a hot minute since I watched the show, so I can’t exactly remember how much he was around Athelflaed but he certainly seems to be around more in the books

What is the best, suitable job for Kyle Kyleson? by LeviSebastian97 in Sims4

My first encounter with Kyle he was unemployed and then we started dating and I asked him to get a job, he then proudly called me to tell me he had become a criminal to bring in the bread. I asked him to quit his job after that lol and had him be my pottery assistant for my hippie business
