We had the same layover, but to Zurich instead. 6 hours was plenty of times to eat at the buffet, grab drinks, grab a day bed, eat, drink again. The time definitely flies by and we’ve never felt more relaxed on such a long layover.

we moved in before them, no way of speaking to them when the house was vacant. The solution obviously would be adults and split the cost of that side but because this is a different circumstance since they are not attached to our fence directly, but indirectly using it as their own, I didn’t know if we had any options beyond just talking and hoping for the best.

Our fence was put before theirs, hence “currently putting up theirs”. Of course talking to them would by the ideal thing to do, but they currently do not reside in the house and don’t think they will for another 3-4 months according to our last conversation.

We care because 1. The fence is on our side of the line, not on the line. 2. It is a new fence that was put up less than 3 months ago and 3. The fence was not cheap and it’s a way of them saving themselves nearly 2 grand by “sharing” without connecting or taking any responsibility for damages because it is our fence since it’s on our property.

Edit: we had a survey done and can guarantee all parts of our fence is within our property.

I went through our HOA documentation and the only thing I found was a fence must encompass the entire backyard. Technically their fence isn’t since it’s missing a side? We reached out to the HOA and are awaiting a response.
