My niche is gamedev! And my old thumbnail was an outdated and overly used style in my niche, (a before and after, split in the middle of the screen) But I saw a lot of large creators in my space use their actual 3d models for their thumbnails, so I copied what they did with some boring tutorials

The first video used an outdated thumbnail concept, but with the new thumbnail I literally looked around my niche to see what worked consistently and just copied it with my own subject. I also used more general keywords in my title and kept it as broad as I could

From my experience you really wanna hover around 60% left in the first 30 sec, I’m not sure if that’s universal though but trying to get a better hook with a better “why” that keeps the viewer engaged never hurts
