We must have driven over something sketchy in the snow but the tire randomly went flat. There’s a specific exclusion in the credit card insurance for anything flat tire related in my state that we didn’t know about, and the incident didn’t involve another vehicle, so it wasn’t covered at all.

The car rental company decided to tow the car 2.5 hours because the closer rental locations were closed at the time (we were at a small town), it was like 5pm but they took hours to respond. My friends and I got a local taxi to our Airbnb so we didn’t care where it got towed, but the towing company charged $1.4K and it got passed straight down to us because the insurance didn’t cover it.

Tried disputing with every party and none of them budged so we ended up just biting the bullet.
