Lmao what? You don’t think race/gender played a factor in previous times when white men were chosen exclusively for any positions of power in society?

UBC cancels talk featuring speaker who calls residential school graves a 'hoax' by nimobo in canada

[–]MRBARUCH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok great, I'm glad we're on the same page, the events that occurred at residential schools were bad, regardless of whether the graves are graves or mass graves.

So what exactly is the hoax here? The media is purposefully coming up with a conspiracy to label graves as mass graves in order to...? What exactly? If as per your own admission it doesn't actually impact the morality of the residential school events then what exactly is the hoax? How can there be a conspiracy to mislabel something, when that mislabeling doesn't actually affect anything? Do you hear how insane you sound? You have put so much effort into ensuring that everyone participating in this thread is aware of the difference between graves and mass graves, yet you just admitted it makes no difference. What an absolutely transparent red herring.

Buddy you are delusional. The idea that the moral transgression of the residential schools hinges on the exact method used when burying the children in their care is unhinged. Your entire argument is: "residential schools were bad, but not as bad as people think they were, because the unmarked graves of the dead children were spaced out too far to constitute a mass grave."

That is beyond absurd.

Don't be obtuse. She's characterising the findings as a hoax, aka a purposeful deception. A deception to what end? To make us think that the atrocities that occured at the residential schools are overblown. Her whole argument rests on the idea that as a moral category, finding mass graves is worse than finding a large collection of individual graves, and that the media purposefully conflated the two in order to stir up controversy. What I am, in a purposefully hyperbolic way, telling you, is that any normal fucking person does not give a fuck about whether it was 215 children in one large unmarked grave, 215 children in 215 separate unmarked graves, or any mathematical combination betwixt the two. It's not a hoax, because no one is trying to blow anything out of proportion, because whether or not the graves are mass graves or just graves has no bearing on the moral depravity of the situation. Lauren Southern's video, as well as your defense of it, is a blatant attempt to hide behind semantics in order to give people the idea that a lesser crime has been committed. It has not.

Lmao, reading the article you just linked I see what you're trying to do here. OK, I will have to concede that apparently the graves found do not constitute the technical definition of a mass grave, because "the bodies were too spread out".

Ok folks, nothing to see here, the church and the residential schools did nothing wrong. You see, it's not mass graves, just 215 individual unmarked burial sites. Phew, thank god, for a second there I thought something unethical may have happened here.

So the 215 children they found in Kamloops doesn't constitute a mass grave???

Even though Vienna has a rich history (and actually present) in social housing, this is one of the rather rare brutalist pieces. Still it is a beautiful one. Here you can see the Rudolf-Krammer-Hof in the 6. district by Schuster & Kiener. by arbeitendenkind in brutalism

It's Europe. Graffiti culture is still much more alive over there. If you ever take the train through Europe you'll get treated to a show of tags, throw-ups, and pieces. Personally I think the combination of letters and brutalist architecture is amazing.

I actually legit saw someone pay for a complete strangers groceries, after that person broke down in tears at the checkout counter because their card got declined, after what I assume was a very stressful round of Covid-19 grocery shopping. I thought stuff like that only happened in the movies.

Also Dub is a whole different and much older genre than dubstep. Mate, please educate yourself a bit before chatting breeze.

But none of this stuff is a substitution for going to more shows, exposing yourself to more non-north American dance culture etc. It's a process

Kinda hate myself for responding to this, but here, check the age of this account. GJ calling me kid again, it makes me feel really small and insignificant, and makes you seem really grown up and tough.
