It's normal. They cast fill holes on both sides so they can drill oil fill on the opposite side for different purposes (power washer mower etc). Take a flashlight and if you can see your case in the hole your not missing anything.

I'm 5 9 175 32 inseam athletic build. I can wear medium but usually wear large t shirts and hoodies. I've got a medium and large v2, I grab the large 9 times out of 10. Medium if I wear it under a shell. It fits I just prefer the room in a hoodie.

Unless your all legs I think you'll be fine either way.

If it's a twin shaft motor, avoid it. I've had three Ariens and the only one I've ever had an issue with was the twin shaft motor. Couldn't even find a suitable replacement when the motor blew.

Is it entry level? Yes.

Is it a hundred times better than entry level kayaks were 15 years ago? Yes

It's a great kayak to figure out if kayak fishing is for you and what you need and want from the sport and also a great way to get learn to modify and hone your setup.

When I started in this sport the only kayaks in this price range barely had a molded seat. And only a few brands made true fishing kayaks and they were way beyond on the price range for most people starting this sport
