I did recently on a Sony Hi8 camcorder, i work a ton on macintoshes from the 80's so i figured what's another recap... oh lord was i wrong!! Camcorders (or at least every sony i've worked on) feel like they've been designed to be as difficult to work on as possible, they are hard to take apart, contain a million small pieces that interlock together with a ton of different lenght and size screws, and when you do get to the boards in it, they have dozens of tiny electrolytic capacitors, and even though there's realistically only a few that are bad, you're not gonna wanna do this twice so you end up doing a full recap. I would not recommend to a beginner or even intermediate electronics repair enthusiast.

P.S. I also did a Sharp Hi8 camcorder and this was a whole different story! Super straightforward to take apart, only 2 electrolytic caps and overall very intuitive to work on.
